Overrated: Dirty Mind, it just kind of plods along. A basic template for all the ideas he was about to go crazy with but nowt more....

Underrated: Lovesexy, yeah its rated, but not enough. I ain't got a religious bone in my body but he captured some rarified state of being in that album. With all his other albums he was standing on the shoulders of giants so to speak; LS he was briefly out there on his own....

The Rainbow children, some okay tracks and a lot of quasi dogmatic filler

Most Underrated

Come, easily some of his catchy pop (Letitgo), creamy sex joints (Come), fine soul ballads (Dark) and mid tempo cuts Space and Pheromone work well too. The only filler is solo. This album is easily in his better half of his albums. Expect it to get more love over time

I am a fan, and these two songs don't do much for me. A regrettably too forgettable album for me.

Isn't it his best selling after Purple Rain? I love the singles and the music videos but a lot of the songs go nowhere. Jughead.... eek.

Underrated - Dirty Mind.

I think it is his best album besides Sign O' The Times.

Love all three of the albums I put in the overrated category, but I think they often times are praised at the expense of some of his other great works as if they're the ONLY great albums he's ever recorded.
