Do you think maybe Prince will reconsider Revolution reunion

If Bobby recovers in full don't you think it would be

great if the band reunites for one album and tour ?

They were Prince E 'Street band or Mother of Invasion

No. It'd be nice though. Despite the problems and infighting, I thought the expanded Revolution was maybe his best band.

and speedy recovery wishes to Bobby Z.

Nope. Really, I don't see much of a point in bringing the Revolution back. It'd be nice to see them together one more time as a gimmick, but the Revolution was all about rebellious youth, which are two things Prince definately is not, ever since Emancipation.

I think if he was to do some sort of retrospective, or wanted to do the full length albums live, it would be a good idea. And I doubt there would be much fighting going on, except when it came to signing on to do it.

Sadly, at the Northrop show in 2000, we had the closest possible thing. Dr Fink could still play, Mark Brown was ok...Bobby Z was not able to keep the beat, and Prince told him to leave. Perhaps he did not practice, or had not touched the drums in a few years...but he just wasn't in to it. Mark Brown told me he had not touched a bass in over 5 years later that night... With Bobby Z's health a concern, there likely will never be anything close to a real reunion.

I would love to see this band, however:

Guitar: Miko, Wendy

Bass: Sonny T

Keyboards: Dr Fink, Lisa

Drums: Sheila E, John Blackwell

Horns: Eric Leeds, Atlanta Bliss, Greg Boyer

I would love to just see them jam around.

But like some of the former members say, they haven't touched the instruments or can't even keep up, so any new musical input, direction, or impromptu coming from them is prolly dated and/or useless? We know Prince likes to be stimulated with new material and possibilities coming from jam sessions, other than his own mind, and I don't think the Revolutionaries could offer that. He has been there, done that with them and has also "absorbed their musical possibilities"

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

I hope not. If he put the Revolution back together I’d have to spend a year listening to people bitch about it not being the particular lineup that they would prefer.

Yes. My wishlist is 90% from the '80s. He is just too busy playing hits and trying to forget he wrote badass songs like Erotic City.

Revolution reunion is never going to happen though, sorry.

You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

Let's keep answer to that question with a big "NO" so Prince do the opposite biggrin

If enough people say they don't want a Revolution reunion, Prince will actually do it just to spite us.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to start this tasteless and tacky thread. Not long at all it seems.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

No, and what happened to Bobby shouldn't be used as a reason or excuse by fans, just to see Prince hook up with members of the former Revolution.

That's not true, they all have been playing. BrownMark has been jamming the bass and recording an album.

And Bobby Z writes and produces for others, he doesn't work the drums in a band setting but in a studio setting.

Dr Fink is seriously busy and recording and mixing

and of course Wendy & Lisa

I don't know where Mico is or Atlanta Bliss

Eric Leeds has appeared with Prince at times in the 2000's

Dez Dickerson has a band in the Twin Cities (?)

Do you seriously think he will play the dirty old stuff ever again, without omitting verses, changing wors, etc?

Even in 2010, when doing 'Uptown' he skipped the 'White, black puertorican, everybody's just a-freakin' verse...

Udo he skipped those lyrics in Uptown because he performs it that way since 1982.

I think Prince will perform his more raunchy songs

because nobody expect that from Prince and he isn't a fool,

he sees how great crowd reaction

is when he plays snippets of those jams.

Praise on the banishedone! I'm tired of these Revolution haters, trying to front like they're "deeper" because they're into ALL of Princes music. Nobody was saying anything past 1988 isn't good, we're just saying everything up until '88 IS GREAT! People in the Purple World need to start unifying if you want any kind of Revolution type of shows- there is a lot going on behind the scenes and ya'll are the ones not completely behind the movement. It's in the air more than ever RIGHT NOW. Quit trying to kill peoples dreams, so not cool. What happened to Positivity? Haters believe what you want, ya'll gonna be hushed one day.... I believe that day is coming sooner than you would ever think....

Oh, Forgot to mention to the "pickapart" posters on here who are gonna try to come at my post, I'm well aware the Revolution was over well before '88, minus Dr. Fink.
