Another Lonely Christmas question...

"Remember how you used to scream so loud because you hated that number 9".

Anyone care to elaborate?

I mean... I have an idea on what this means... but... I just want someone else to confirm any REAL, or suspected ideas.

'Cause I'm pretty much thinking it's something like a 69, but different. lol

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Well he said that they "played pokeno 4 money" which is a card game. So the number 9 card I guess shrug

Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

They're playing Pokeno...and she hates the number 9, for some reason.

(I've never played Pokeno - so I don't know if 9 is inherently bad, or if 9 was bad for her, in particular.)

Could be a reference to the 69 sexual position . . . Prince was the 6, the girl was the 9.

And she would hate that why, exactly?

Maybe the card game, maybe a phobia (at least that's what I thought)

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

It's something that can't really be explained and doesn't make much sense, only to make the whole story sound more personal and truthful; it's an old lyricist trick.

Open your mind. Of course they're playing Pokeno and the obvious reference is about cards.

However, "Why does she hate the number 9", was the question. That was my answer, and it makes as much sense as anything else. Could be as simple as the 9 card lost her the game. Could be because she fell off a bike at age 9 and now hates that number. Could be that her favorite number is 7.

Maybe because she doesn't like the 9 position?!?!? Maybe she'd rather be in the 6 position. Or maybe the whole 69 makes her cringe...who knows?

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

remember she robed him blind meaning she won big time. And she used to scream that implys she screamed more than once. So i am thinking she had just lost several times in the past with a 9 so she just did not like that number... or she thought it was not lucky?
