Really? I loved it from the moment I heard it. Glad you like it now, its a great song and very nice way to pay tribute to those that influenced him.
It was one of those songs that instantly I jumped up and danced too, probably why I loved it so much. Baby Knows and Black are funky too, I love them also! Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol | |

Musicology was the second prince album i heard, purple rain being the first. As great as PR is, it doesnt show prince's funky side. I guess i had to familirise myself with more of prince's work before truly appreciting his versatility.

For me true funk is about repeated build up of tension & release in the bass and I'm not feeling that on Musicology. I'm looking more at Get Wild, Lady Cab Driver, We Can Funk, even Shhhh. That's my interpretation of funk; your ears & brain may disagree! "Sheeeeeeeeit" | |

I was thinking about this question the other day. He has a lot of polished dance/funk jams that qualify as funky. But, when I think of the funk, I think of that uncut shit.....The bomb.
Some of you may know Some of you may not wanna know his funkiest album is The Funk Bible...the new testament.
His funkiest tracks are Le Grind and Rock Hard in a funky place.
Runner Up: The first 2 Time releases are loaded with funk anthems.

F.U.N.K! & Days of Wild, do it 4 me! Prince has done so many funky songs when u sit down & actually think about it! When my eldest son was little i taught him 2 say sexy mutha funker instead of f**cker! He's 20 now & laughs about it!
