The show is part of the F1 race and if you have a race ticket you are able to see him. I think it's for the race fans only, you won't be able to purchase a ticket just to see him.

This is the only information I have see to date re: tickets so hopefully it will change. I think I am going to travel out for this one. Just need to find a hotel from less than $500/night.

Hey - it's easier to get cheaper hotels in Dubai....you can travel to see him...it's a 45 min drive and there are loads of buses/taxis that could take you.

Check on tripadvisor for cheaper hotels.

Ibis Barsha is a good choice for example - room is around 210 Dirhams/night which is less than $100!!!

*This could be the fammiest thing i have ever written.

Because mister hypocrite himself said that "money and art don't mix". Now we know what's really on the mind of this "artist".

Really ludwig? You're right, I guess he SHOULD perform for free... All other artists' do! rolleyes

We’ve been keeping you up to date with the latest on the Fall leg of Prince’s 20Ten tour in Europe

, which so far is set to funk through Finland

, Norway, Denmark, Belgium and Italy. Now here’s some official purple nuggets about the upcoming tour…

Drummer

John Blackwell is back on stage for the October dates in Europe. He’ll be joined by newcomer Ida Nielsen of Denmark on the funky bass. We can’t wait to hear these two hold it down for the Purple Yoda.

We’re also being told that the one and only Sheila E. will be joining the tour. Hot like soup right there, y’all.

The set list will be similar to the earlier 20Ten shows from this summer. So lots of great hits mixed in with some unexpected surprises. You know Prince will always surprise, no matter how many times you’ve seen him.

Ticket sales

have already kicked off as of yesterday and they’re going FAST. So if you’re even thinking about hitting one of the shows, don’t delay.

As for the rest of the dates on the tour? Prince won’t commit to any long term plans with promoters so we’ll just have to sit tight and see where else his Royal Badness will decide to visit. It’s just the Prince way, right?

Yeah, we know it can be frustrating for fans who are trying to make plans, but hey, it keeps us on our toes, right? <img src=" /> – Dr.FB

Cool - glad to see there's some actual Prince *music* news after such a long lack of any. So what if it's a high paying gig. If he truly is having financial issues, then great there ya go. Easy way to take care of it. And if not, ok he's playing to some fans he hasn't played to before.

I just wish he'd tour the US someday soon. Someday I'll get to see him I hope.I'm still kinda shocked there hasn't been more shows or appearances to promote "20TEN" in some fashion. I'm lovin' the album and it'd be great o hear some of the jams live smile

I have lived in Dubai for the past 10 years and I've always had to accept the fact that Prince would probably never consider coming over to this part of the world for a concert wall ....however.....

THAT HAS ALL CHANGED!!! cool

I read the following in Time Out Abu Dhabi today and you can only imagine how ecstatic I was:

http://www.timeoutabudhab...10-line-up

I realise that probably most of the people on this community won't care cause you are mostly living in the US or Europe, but if you have a chance to visit the UAE while he is here, you would be surprised how much fun, sun and lots of other stuff this wonderful country has to offer!

If anyone needs any help booking hotels, suggestions on what to see or do give me a shout!

pity I can't attend, but my friends and their friends...well be seeking the "Purple Yoda" out.

Never know, this may not "EVER" happen again.

You do realize he was touring the whole time he was bitching at the record labels and that is who the comments were directed at.

Please tell me your are not serious with this post eek

Fact is - he said it. And it's a DUMB thing to say if you are a person who plans to make his living off of his art. He could have said a MILLION other things that would get the point across that labels are a bad deal for artists - or even that he should have READ his contract instead of looking at all the zeroes. I try not to hold people to stuff they said 15 years back, but he always goes thru this phase of $$ vs. art ..and always manages to strike deals that make him upfront money (as opposed to doing a project and putting it out and seeing what happens - like a "pay what you think it's worth" deal) Again- I don't really hold THAT particular statement against him, but he should be more careful about what he say publicly or he's going to get this kind of backlash. Which might just be fine by him.

Okay, 3 things that popped into my head...

1) Not to stereotype, but the Muslim world is generally where al Queada is located. Is Prince in any danger? Terrorists can be crafty remember. And imagine how big of a prize Prince would be to kidnappers... Not that I would EVER wish something like that to happen. That aside, it is really cool to see Prince playing in a Muslim country.

2) Not to stereotype again, but the article questions if Prince might be asked to tone down his performance in respect to where he is playing. God, what bullshit. Why are people/countries such pussies that they have to censor anything. I mean, Christ. Here in America we have Marilyn Manson butt-fucking himself with a cross on stage while cutting himself with razorblades. (Ok, so that might be an exaggeration, but still...) It makes me glad to live in America. We bitch about censorship here, but it is nowhere near as bad as that part of the world.

3) Kanye West is playing, too. Let's hope he doesn't snatch the mic from Prince. P's bodyguards will give Kanye a nice beatdown. Kanye = no-talent hack.

Prince predicted the bombings by Bin Laden prior to them happening. Maybe he is part of an al Quaeda cell.

There are cells here in the United States and all over the world. Prince or any other entertainer could be potential targets wherever they go.

They can have Kanye if they want him.... Bin Laden would probably send him back saying that he would not cause anymore trouble... just take Kanye back!

, but he always goes thru this phase of $$ vs. art ..and always manages to strike deals that make him upfront money (as opposed to doing a project and putting it out and seeing what happens - like a "pay what you think it's worth" deal)

(So does everyone else in the industry. Who would sit on their rearend and not tour behind a CD with record sales being at a all time low. You do not sit around and wait to see what happens if you want to stay relevant in the industry and on the concert circuit.)

Again- I don't really hold THAT particular statement against him, but he should be more careful about what he say publicly or he's going to get this kind of backlash. Which might just be fine by him.

( It is Prince do you really think a 52 year old guy is going to hold his tongue? The only backlash is from a few fans as over the last 15 years P has found a why to continue to put out CDs with and without the help of the mainstream industry and people keep buying concert tickets.

Yet every year someone gets on this board and claims the great backlash is coming. Please wake me when the backlash arrives.
