I was 16 and a Junior in HS. I had tried a few times to get tickets with no luck (IIRC, they started with selling tix for 2 shows and kept adding shows as they sold out until there were 5 shows [I always thought it was 6; maybe because they were here for 6 nights). The upcoming concerts were all the talk at school - I knew several people who were going - just not me...

UNTIL, the afternoon of Dec. 9th (a Sunday), one of my HS friends, Jason, called me to say he wound up with an extra ticket for that night and would I want to go. Needless to say, I was at his home as quickly as I could get there. We caught the bus and the L-train from the South Side of Chicago to Rosemont and met another HS friend there.

What an amazing night!
For those who are too young to remember, you cannot imagine how huge Prince was at the time. We all know PR was his most popular era, but it was unreal. The album, the movie and the man himself were the biggest things around. EVERYBODY was listening to the music, seeing the movie (often multiple times) and talking about it all (at least the people I knew). Going to the tour was like the cherry on top of it all.

I definitely remember Sheila doing the routine of pulling a lucky guy from the audience and practically giving him a lap dance to "Next Time Wipe The Lipstick Off Your Collar". I, for one, was green with envy (Damn! Sheila was fooo-iiine! Still is smokin', IMHO)

So big thanks to my buddy Jason for enabling me to have one of my most memorabkle musical experiences!
