Are some of your geniuses saying that Prince needs to tour because of $220K in back taxes? He has that much under the cushions of his sofa.

Well, he needs to cough that shit up.
By the way, it's been estimated that $450K in property taxes is delinquent.

Prince isn't being "picked on" he's being exploited because of his fame. Its simple--the media is trying to run a "sensational" story.

No one said he isn't paying his taxes, he's delinquent (late). I'm would bet that Prince has paid more than his share of taxes over the years.

He's not being exploited. HE DIDN'T PAY HIS TAXES. He's has a history of not paying his taxes when he's supposed to. He's filed bankruptcy TWICE in Minnesota, to avoid paying many Minnesota businesses and others over the years as well. Yeah, he's being exploited.

Stop being a Prince apologist.

I beg to differ (and I can because I know me) I'm not a Prince apologist.

There are so many variations of what could be happening. (One .Orger mentioned "floating" its done all the time.) Financial strategies for corporations and individuals with wealth are beyond what most of us are even aware of--believe it. Its uninformed to measure Prince's tax problems and business issues against the average joe/jane; its simply not the same playing field.

That being said, its really no one's business except Prince; however, I would offer a balanced opion on behalf of anyone (even you) if I observed unbalanced conclusions--And, this I do know about myself. Try employing some critical thinking when you read this stuff in the newspaper or hear it through the "mill".

Now, back to more important things...when's there gonna be a rent party in Carver County. lol

I'm pretty sure Prince doesn't get out of bed in the morning for less than $250K.

the guy i am referring to is widely known for being the best, yet, his luck has run out, he recently lost a huge case regarding a local mall, and that petition for reduction in taxes actually backfired in that the state took a second look at the property and increased the mall's taxes. significantly.

i think the time for that strategy has come and gone...

hope prince files for an extension and works things out. it would suck if the IRS ended up in possession of the Vault eek .

Actually, for the fans, that would probably be the best thing ever. The IRS, wanting $$$, would release the recordings. Either have Prince release the tracks himself with the IRS getting the lion share of the profit, or by letting the record labels bid on them, with Prince getting NO money from them.

I gotta say that am no tax/legal expert by ANY MEANS but what I mentioned above just seems logical to me.

Keep in mind that this is not Federal Taxes, but local County property taxes. When you own property, you pay taxes on that parcel of land/building. Nothing to do with the IRS!

Oh, lord, don't get my hopes up. Cuz, goddamn! That would be awesome. He'd have a rougher time than Linda Blair. Serve his ass right too. nod

Oh, he'd have a ball. A pretty thing like him would be more popular in jail than he ever was during "Purple Rain". lol

Prince could have prevented this silly "news story" by simply paying his bills on time. He's a celebrity. When celebrities don't pay their taxes,it's gonna be in the media.Surely he know this.

Of course he does - but he also knows that it dosen't matter!

Its been reported before, about many people, and doesn't do them any of them any harm. This isn't the first time for Prince either - if a little "media embarrassment", as you put it (which pales in to insignificance compared to other stories that have been written about him!) earned him a million dollars, do you really think he would care about the fleeting exposure and a few knee-jerkers on here thinking he's washed up?!

As a percentage of income/property holdings, Prince owes less than a lot of other debtors in the Twin Cities.

Now when this list was written was the other names listed as well I mean the leaders of the state that is what we see here in Atlanta not too many stars and what they owe but who we vote in office and how hard it is to get them to pay taxes the amount seem pretty low and yet it is not April 15th the dead line for when taxes are due and the thing is with the low amount it looks like just one year in taxes maybe I am just one of those people that like to know why so much attention in other peoples problems when life gives us all enough of our own to worry about now as tables turn we will all be surprised to know who all owe him money and yet he keeps it qiuet sometimes we can be so busy on the out side looking in you never know he may be looking for a 50 million dollar check that is held by someone else greed (smile) L-G-P
