Id have to say Party Man, extended version. You get an even better appreciation for it when you watch him recording it on the Prince documentary.

"La,la,la,He,he,he", has a great bassline "America", and there is a song off of Lucy Pearl's debut album (I can't think of the song right now) it is the very first track after the beginning intro that has a hella bassline! You may want to take a listen to Raphael Saddiq, the boy is bad on the bass! Just incase you didn't know he played for Sheila E's band back in 86" and of course Toni, Tony, Tone'.
Peace,
Aaron6ix

777-9311, hands down. 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton has some juice, too.

A riff is a melodic building block in pop music that can be played on any instrument, even vocals. It usually repeats throughout the song.

His best bass riff is "Everywhere" from the Rainbow Children album. I've never heard Prince play such a dense bass line with that many chord and tempo changes. It definetly made me appreciate his talents as a bassist. He's definetly come a long way in that respect.

Think Layla, Smoke on the Water, that kinda thing for guitar riffs. Bass riffs? Hmm, Another One Bites the Dust?
