More La la la he he he Appreciation :)

I've been jamming to this song for awhile, but I just renewed my passion for it this past week by playing it over and over and over.

The extended version is simply a masterpiece!

I also downloaded the lyrics again, and realized I was singing them wrong.

I love it when you come across a song that you've been singing wrong for 22 years. When you learn the real lyrics, the song is reborn!

The line...
"Strokin' your whiskers, causin' a scene
That's not the way to be to me"... is bangin.

It's Prince at his vulnerable best.

And the line... "You've got 9 lives, I've only got one" is erotic and hot! Can't get enough of it!

And when Prince screams "Say it!!" ... and then screams "Say it again!!!!!"

I love that!! I've seen him do that on other songs. It's such a corny line, but it's hot to have a musician SO MUCH in his element, and be so caught up in the flow that he commands his group to "Say it again!" (the barks)

Slam It'!!

This might be my FAVORITE b-side. Maybe! Love this tune!!!

One of my favorite songs..when he had "highly explosive" on the label,he wasnt lying..the energy is awesome!!

Now thats a line that is pure nastiness and I love it!

When I first heard it about 20 years ago, I didn't really like it due to the inane lyrics. Then I heard the extended version. You can really hear where Prince was going musically on this track.

It feels like a Black Album sampler!

Musically, its fantastic. Lyrically, not so much

In my top 3 b-sides. The extended cut is fukengruven.

Such a gloriously funny, funky tune... to quote Nessa... it's "tidy".

"Someone give grandma a bath"...has to be one of my favorite Prince lines ever. I remember buying the 12" in high school the week it came out. Once I got over the cover...I fell in love with the extended cut. Still gives me goose bumps when I put it on. Have the original vinyl version stored on my Ipod.

I love that this entire song came from a challenge that Prince could not make a song out of the words 'la la la he he hee'. He showed them that not could he make a song out of it but a damn funky one at that!

Fantastic tune.

Some believe the lyrics aren't the best... it's simply creativity at it's funkiest and most pure.

It's impossible to not get up and jam to this tune!
