The event is tonight, to be aired later. Prince might have pre-recorded his tribute, but we shall see.

I sure hope this happens...it would be very cool to see and Would explain why he's been performing many MJs songs recently

oh and yes the 94 WMAs performance was one of his worst- he lip synced and it was not a stellar performance

I'm not sure if this is true but found another link...saying the same thing? eek

http://www.chiff.com/pop-...awards.htm

Founded in 1989, the World Music Awards recognizes the best selling musical artists worldwide.

This year, top music stars from around the globe will gather in Monaco on November 15, 2009 for the 21st anniversary of the WMA's honoring the most popular artists with the longest track records of success in the industry.

Along with a variety of live performances, also watch for legendary rocker Prince who is scheduled to perform a special tribute to Michael Jackson during the awards ceremony this year. eek

World Music Awards Monaco – Prince Leads Michael Jackson Tributes eek eek

This very rivalry gives both Prince and Jackson fans pause. It might have been hard for anyone back in the ’80s to envision Prince paying tribute to the King of Pop. Yet, the two had a similar effect on pop music history. Given the contemporary nature of their careers, Prince may be one of the most fitting to present such a tribute.

The forum itself will be something of a bittersweet one. Michael Jackson himself performed at the World Music Awards in London back in 2006. His appearance was to have been something of a comeback, one of several such ‘comeback’ appearances during those years.

The much-touted World Music Award performance by Jackson was to have featured him performing his hit ‘Thriller.’ It was reported at the time that hundreds of Jackson fans paid several hundred dollars for tickets to hear ‘Thriller’ – instead, producers pulled the song from Jackson’s own line-up. It was instead performed by Chris Brown.

The King of Pop performed a roughly thrown-together version of ‘We are the World’ with an ad hoc choir. The two performances elicited boos from disappointed Jackson fans.

Critics wonder if fans might have had a different feeling in 2006 if they’d had the benefit of seeing into the future. The question likely won’t be answered. It’s probably a safe bet that fans at this year’s Monaco World Music Awards will respond more favourably to the Michael Jackson tribute.

Other artists who will be appearing at the Monaco World Music Awards this fall include Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, 50 Cent, Ciara and Nickleback. The star-studded event will draw all kinds of fans. However, Prince’s Michael Jackson tribute will likely be one of the biggest highlights of the event and put the spotlight on Monte Carlo.

I was at the show and alway wondered where they got the idea of the booing from because there certainly was no booing lol

Actually thats a lie Lindsey Lohan got booed but otherwise they had more problems with the fans chanting for Michael when they were trying to do other awards etc I felt sorry for the poor guys trying to edit the footage biggrin

I was merely answering. I wasn't rude. If you read it that way, I can't control how that works. The title is WORLD music awards, and it originated in Monaco. All that math would seem to indicate that it will be aired around the world at some point.

l just have to wait and see when it will be aired at some point then..
but thanks anyway for pointing that out to me....
hope we have cleared the air ernest.... wink
appreciate...

Ok. Prince will perform a Jackson Tribute. On TV. Broadcasted worldwide.
Even though he hasn't publicly said anything about Jackson for ten years.

Then the site has posts mentioning a new album, of which we have not yet heard
anything about. Supposedly out soon, six months after a 3cd release.

The site's name? MorningErection.

Yeah. That's what I thought.

This rumor was debunked when it first popped up months ago:

http://prince.org/msg/7/315772

If it turns out to be true, we'll open it back up.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
