"Mountains" appreciation thread!!

Best. Song. Ever. I think it's his best, imo. I absolutely can not get enough of this song. It has so much atmosphere in it, it's just so perfect. Who else appreciates this brilliant gem?

Mountains especially 12" extended version - what a B-side too!

Very good '86 song! Man did that Revolution kicked ass then! Indeed the 12" is a classic.

Didn't make 1978-1993 2CD collection The Hits either. You'd think it, Girls & Boys and Batdance came close.

This for me is one of the most 'perfect' Prince songs.

It captures pure exuberance for life and is still as fresh and spontanious as the first time I heard it.

He's wrting and composing style sounds so natural you can almost feel lost in the music.

I LOVE IT!

The album version of the song is good, but the 10 minute version on the 12-inch is simply great.

Not thoroughly original (he must have listened to Sly Stones I want to take you higher a lot), but nonetheless colourfull, funky and building up to a great climax.
