Emancipation one disc as great album

Emancipation was not the kind of freedom
we expected for his first release after WB
departure.
For the first time Princes production started
sounding bland and plastic.
But there is a nice production work on the 3 cd
set full of filler material.
so one disc perfect Emancipation would be...?
my choice is

In this bed i scream
Style
Emale
Right back here in my Arms
Dreaming about U
Curios Child
My Computer
Damned if i do
Saviour
One of Us
Holy River

i think if Emancipation have this songs only it could have been very nice album

I liked more songs than you off this album. Thought over-all it was very good, better than some of his more recent ones. But he offers us so much in quantity that you forget how much quality there is in that mix and diversity!

I'm not a woman, I'm not a man
I am Something that you'll never understand
I'll never beat you, I'll never lie
And if you're evil, I'll forgive you by and by...

Speak for yourself, I enjoy all three discs and nobody ever agrees on the best twelve tracks anyway.

No Somebodys Somebody or Love we make? Van gogh and 2020 shouldve been on the album.

I've always said in life, and on the Org, that Disk 1 is great on shuffle too. Just the one disk, shuffle, any order, pretty much, is spot on.

I can't find it anymore, but I once had made up a list of a strong 2 CD set. There's plenty of room to make 2 good disks, full of music. However, as you said, Disk 1 on its own is great. It needs every song on it. No VanGogh, or 2020. Just the songs on it.

to me, disc 1 is the weakest. Get Yo Groove On and We Gets up are atrocious. Damned If I Do and Courtin' Time are annoying. and I Can't Make U Love Me is a fucking abomination.

there are a couple songs on it that I like better than almost anything on the rest of it, but it's the most uneven and most interesting of the 3.

Jam of the year
New world
The Human body
Lala means I love u
Sleep around
My computer
The love we make
Sex in the summer
Soul Sanctuary
Curious child
Dreaming about you
The Holy River

I like your tracklist. Emancipation would have been cool if it had been released as you suggest.

nah, a solid 2 disc joint it would'a been, imo. losing only a few songs (damned if i do, da da da, soul sanctuary, one kiss at a time )and trim down a few overlong others (get yo groove on, the human body, sleep around) cool.

may the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows... cool
