How Was The Org When Prince Was Doing 21 Nights

Was there people like,"ohh he's gonna die" or something like that?

Were u guys celebrating everday of his success during the concerts?

How was the aftermath around here?

Sorry if I'm posting to much, but I wanted to asked this for 7 months.

UpHi

I remember 07 smile people were all over it like, 'did you go to the concert', 'Omg it was amazing!', people posting their stories like everywhere, it was great smile i remember the pictures being posted and there was alot of buzz around those concerts and of course *sigh* the 3121 website, and the infamous blogger writting updates on Prince which everyone thought it was Prince, oh, and Amy Winehouse performed a duet with him wink

Not at all. Obviously your question refers to what a lot of people predicted (correctly, unfortunately) about Michael Jackson's planned residency - but there was a multitude of differences surrounding the lead up to their respective shows:

Prince had just come off an extensive residency in Vegas, whereas Michael hadn't really done an extensive tour of any kind for at least 10 years. A typical Prince show had always been a lot less physically demanding than a typical MJ show. Sure, we all still wanted to see Prince do the splits again, but it's not on the same level as the expectation of MJ fans wanting to see him to the "Billie Jean" routine night after night. And thirdly, Michael already had a long history of various illnesses, both physical and mental - and let's face it, his press conference didn't exactly dispell any rumours about his health! Prince on the other hand appeared confident and cocksure right from the word go.

My own recollection of the reception of the 21 Nights shows is that he pretty much kicked ass. For those 2 months, he was literally the real royalty in London town.

It was awesome. People were posting the setlists in real time. It was almost like being there.

For a while there, the Org was the equivalent of a 3-D HD 24/7 Wolfy-TV internet broadcast network.

21 nights. All Wolfy. All the time.

After reading reviews of Vegas here on the .org that's when I decided to take a leap of faith, buy tickets to Prince's concerts in London and GO.

Summer of 2007 I was a hermit saving my money & anticipating to be thrilled and dazzled which I was by Prince's performance at 2 concerts and 2 after shows. I was so close to him at one point that I could have taken his hat off of him that he was wearing but then I thought that would be really rude of me but I was so tempted to do it just because...

didnt someone from HQ get into the arena before the first gig and take a picture of the set list and posted it on HQ?
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Well-i didn't ever come here until after the Quake so.....

but-there-it was amazing-superb pics-set lists as they happened-and the shows were up within days (not on the Quake obviously)

e-bay was overflowing with boots

and I went to 5 shows and my best aftewrshow ever

the amazing sep 16th. Tried for the 21st after-begged-even waited there after the main till everyone had gone in-went partying in Mayfair instead

and-my bid for £300 on e-bay for a tic-was hammered and went for £500 for 2 tix. the guy would only sell the pair

probably my fave P time ever -and sadly-its been proper downhill since

and-even better

for two whole months-you could get main and aftershow tix at ticketmaster

if you timed it right. I had folks stalking the place-and it got me amazingly great tix to all shows-except aug 18th which i'll never forget-cuz i', scared of heights and was upper tier

imagine....2 months of-''shall i bother going to a Prince show or aftershow tonight''

amazing-and sadly-it aint gonna happen again

That was the best summer ever!

All I can remember was Prince everything that year. My buddies and I were constantly on ebay bidding for tickets. The atmosphere was brilliant during that 2 months and the last night was insane.

The onyly thing that took the shine off was the whole vip tickets fiasco. Ionly ever got a partial refund for looking at the back end of Cora for 250quid.

Overall though it was the most memorable Prince year for me!

Best summer EVER. 11 nights VIP (Purple tables were incredible) & Kings Row aftershows.
My accountant wasn't very happy with me for the rest of the year though!

I can't even calculate the £!

Worth every penny though.

cool

A lot of us were here online talking everynight on the forums.

Waiting for pictures to come in or reviews of the shows. Being supportive of Prince while he is out of the country so he knows we care. cool

Best summer ever. Days spent on ticketmaster and the org, evenings at the o2. Went to 12 shows and 9 aftershows. Met loads of cool people from the org and have remained friends with some of them.

The best thing about that summer and the org that year though was meeting my wife. biggrin
RIP sad

The FREE prince.org. gave mw more joy, hope, perks and satisfaction than of Prince lunatic $100 NPGMC ventures ever did.

It well documented (by my constant moaning) that, despite the lure of numerous World Tours where our NPGMC membership would reap benefits with priority gigs....his World Tours only took in Canada and USA (World Series Syndrome!!!). The one time he did set foot in the UK , the NPGMC lost all trace of my membership and I couldn't get priority tickets and had to scramble through Ticketmaster.

Cut to 2007....NPGMC is dead, long live genuine people not out to rape your pockets.

Through this site I got a ticket to the final O2 gig and aftershow all at face value (and a cost to the person that helped me I understand). Best Prince experience ever.

And it speaks volumes that Prince tried to shut this hive if generosity down just a few days after he'd left the country which had been paying his bills for 3 months

Yup I was mainly active on housequake at that point....

I had been a fan of Prince as of late 2004 and I had been fairly patient up until that point and all of a sudden one day i'm in work and 5 txt messages and a call (which i answered first) from my old man saying prince will be in london.....21 nights!

BOOM!!!

here it was.....TIME TO POP MY FUNKEN CHERRY!!!
Only saw 2 concerts, but both had prince appearing at the aftershow, so I had no problems cool

NOTE: I DO REMEMBER THE SET-LISTS BEING UPDATED NIGHT BY NIGHT and to see 1999 creep up was like WAAAAA!!!!!
