Dave1992 said: But, seriously, Prince fan site or not, if you have a bit of a mind of your own, know what you are talking about and don't suffer from excessive drug use the only correct answer would be "Prince", when it comes to best live acts, no matter who you put him up against. Prince is top notch, sure, but not above everyone. Bruce actually is a nice contender, he seems to be a good showman. Even Prince admitted to being impressed by Bruce and his bandleadership. I say this while Bruce's music, like U2's, does nothing to me. But unlike U2, I can see Bruce is a good musician with passion for his art, and works hard at it to keep it professional, fun and a good show. I will get bashed for this, but actually Larry's GCS shows in 95 and 96 (before he met Prince) were equally good as Prince' shows. Another good contender would be old James Brown, or currently Ozomatli. Perhaps some old Bootsy as well.

I'm willing to be that none of you actually listen to Springsteen, or have ever seen him live.

I'd have to say it's a tie. Musically, Prince is superior and his stage show is almost unbeatable. Almost.

I've heard of Springsteen, but who is this Prince? Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weebleâ„¢ fall down.

Bruce now gives an excellent show but 20 years ago he was incredible. Prince in my opinion is still incredible, even though now he travels with a stool.

Bruce is an incredible performer, who on any given night is capable of putting on a better show than Prince. And from what I've seen of Prince recently, I'd say Bruce wins the fight more often than not these days. I'm a big Springsteen fan and he's a wonderful performer with a fabulous body of work behind him. Bruce and Prince are so very different as performers that it is difficult to compare and I think it's more often a question of what kind of performer you prefer. Still, given the choice of seeing them both at their best, I'd go for Prince every time - when he's on his game the genius shines through. I'd rather go out for a drink with Bruce though - he comes across as a really decent bloke who doesn't take himself too seriously. Twenty + years ago Bruce was excellent, but twenty + years ago Prince was untouchable.

There is no comparison...
MJ was a brilliant singer/dancer...best of all time, however, that's all he was. Let's not compare him to Prince, best musician of all time, but rather, compare him to someone like Sammy Davis Jr (who I don't hear anyone calling a musical genius).

Most Springsteen fans hadn't seen Prince, and all were very respectful of him. Those that had seen him generally thought he was a hair behind Bruce. Second Funkiest White Man in America
