How many times has Prince made an apperance in film by Name or Character but not in person

Apart from his films, I can only think of Do The Right Thing ....

Great thread, I was planning on posting a similar question ("Prince references in movies"), there are countless references to his songs, but not so many references to the man himself

Bruce Willis discusses Prince at least twice in his films:

In "The Last Boy Scout" he says his daughter likes Prince. Then Damon Wayans says he likes Prince too.

In "Unbreakable", Willis asks his wife what her favourite song is, and she says 'Soft and Wet, by the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.'

In Shaun Of The Dead the heroes debate whether or not to throw a Prince album at one of the zombies.

On Seinfeld when he wore the ruffled shirt, Elaine told Jerry " Prince called, he wants his shirt back!"

There was a movie in the mid 1980s about a rich girl who wakes up one morning as another person who is broke so she becomes a maid. There is a scene in the movie where she is riding the bus and is wearing a "Purple Rain" T Shirt. I think I saw a "Purple Rain" T Shirt worn in another movie by a little boy back in the 1980s. Also, in one of the "Friday" movies, an ex-con is chasing Katt Williams and someone says "Boy look at little Prince run".

And even further back, on the show "Different Strokes", Willis and his girlfriend are dancing to "I Wanna Be Your Lover" and in another episode, Kimberly is doing arobics to "Controversy".

The Everybody Hates Chris episode where he dresses up as Prince for Halloween.

In an episode of The Cosby Show one of the girls is wearing the jean jacket from the Sign O The Times movie.

I just watched Untamed Heart for the first time in years, and there hangin at what appears to be the old Glam Slam and of course there is a huge Prince Symbol on the wall

In the first season of Parker Lewis Can't Lose there is an episode where Parker brings up Prince when he gives a dating confidence seminar.

"The solution for everything is confidence. I mean, look at Prince, the guy's a weasel, but he's got confidence and Kim Basinger was all over him."

In Striptease Demi Moore says 'Don't u love Prince'. Also in Scary Movie with the Prince lookalike and Carmen Electra. It's an hilarious scene. 'That's not my boyfriend, sure I fucked him a few times but that's it!'

In Friends, Ross & Chandler meet up to go to dinner & when Chandler tells Ross he wants to go to the Hard Rock Cafe, Ross says "Again?" & Chandler says "I really like the food" & he replies "You really like the Purple Rain display" or something like that, I never got it when I was younger

I remember seeing a cool reference on What's Happening Now. There was a scene where the guys where are at a funeral home for what they thought was an old teacher's funeral. The owner of the funeral home's son was loudly humming 1999 while pushing a cart to clean up.

They were trying to ask him where the teacher's funeral was being held, and he said he was sorry but he was listening to Prince on his Walkman. He walked off humming the song and playing air guitar.

It was a funny scene 'cause the kid was real spacey.

On Diff'rent Strokes Willis and some girl (Janet Jackson maybe) are dancing to either "I wanna be your lover" or "Why you wanna treat me so bad.
