What is a whammy? i remember as a child,looking at the Syracuse purple rain vhs and during the performance of Delirious,he says Want a whammy? that always made me laugh and to this day it still does. But I have no idea what it means... | |

Yes, a "whammy bar" is a nickname for a tremolo arm (you can see him using it on the recently published Peach performance at Montreux), but in the Syracuse performance he is flirting with the crowd and saying "Wanna lay me?" ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
