Prince attend to Thom Yorke much anticipated show! Prince was one of the many legends attending "the warm up" show of Thom Yorke new band, a funky, groovy, jazzy project with the help of Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)and Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) that storm L.A. this week.

I've NEVER understood the interest in this guy. OK I'll give U "Creep" that's a cool tune but the guy is so stuck on repeat it's just not funny anymore. Every song he does sounds the same and it's depressing as 4k.

I just hear some of the songs and it sounds like "Something in the water does not compute" on acid, and yes, Yorke is really funky! Very nice surprise. What's the deal with the Yorke Lotus flower track?

What a great talent! so he went from mpls to LA to paris? the first flight to paris wouldn't have been until the following day unless i'm mistaken. normally you fly from the states either early in the day or around midday to arrive in europe in the morning the next day, or later if flying from LA All the latest Prince worldwide news and reviews in one easy to find place www.thedawnexperience.co.uk

Funny thing: Thom's Lotusflower has a bit of a Neil Young feel. The only other Prince song I can think of offhand that took a name directly from another recorded song is Cinnamon Girl... Hmmmm [Edited 10/5/09 15:50pm] You could be a part-time model, but you'd probably have to keep your normal job

I agree, this was pretty cool, I'm starting to get a feeling about Yorke going further the funk route, Flea is doing a great job and Prince saw that. May be a Yorke/Prince song together?

Prince, take notes, sucker. It will be really nice if they jam together. Saw the videos and it seems that Thom Yorke wants to evolve from the Radiohead sound, so let's see. So far so good.

I honestly thought he might be trying something different when I read this thread and saw Flea's name but then I watched the videos and... Same old same old. Sorry Thom, not 4 me m8. Shame, because the interest (even from some very respectable contemporaries, including Mr Nelson himself) is not misplaced. Perhaps because you don't like his style, you haven't properly listened and have missed some hidden depths? Its ok, you don't have to like him and I'm not trying to convince you to change, but labeling him as samey and depressing is really doing him a dis-service (not to mention that Creep is one of his weaker songs!) ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

Beside the purple man other superstars attending were Daft Punk, Zack De La Rocha, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Spike Jonze, Madonna, Rick Rubin, Slash, Sting, and, er, Barbra Streisand (!!!!). Rolling Stone link here: http://www.rollingstone.c...solo-band/ For video of the show here: http://themusicslut.com/2...e-project/ Not related a whole lot...but here's a bit of trivia. Did y'all know that Flea played Bass on Young MC's "Bust A Move". This is more well known, but did U know he played bass on Alanis Morissette's "You Oughtta Know" as well One bright day in the middle if the night,
2 dead boys got up to fight. Back 2 back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other A deaf Policeman head this noise, he came and shot the 2 dead boys. If you don't believe this lie
