Your guitar playing has never been better, and lotus flower is such a return to form. I hope you have a big tour in the pipeline, make the most of today I also feel you're are the last of a rare breed, real musicians, we need you. Dear "Damn", is it my time or yours? That was his last great prolific and exciting period. There won't be a big tour, so don't hold your breath. We need the ballsy 80's and 90's Prince, not the grandpa Prince of the 00's. whoa. put that mothafudging cellphone on hold, friend; Prince has always kept busy in the whole decade! one of my major beefs is that Stevie Wonder can spend 10 years not releasing an album, but Prince pops one out one every year. This man is definitely always busy with something. Now if you just mean putting together his legacy, then I agree, he needs to do something about that. Now come on everybody, let's make cocaine cool

So? Why single out Wonder? Why not compare Prince's output to that of an artist who has been busy? CoolTarik1 said: but Prince pops one out one every year.
Really? So what then did he release in 2008? 2005? 2003? 2002? 2000? Lotusflow3r is mere months old and it's already in the trash as far as Prince is concerned. Hell, it was DOA. Remember how back in the day we didn't just get an album every year, but also SINGLES, VIDEOS, TOURS and SIDE PROJECTS? An album wasn't just something that got released one day, but it was the start of a month-long assault on the senses, a stream of events. © Bart Van Hemelen

I'd rather have him take ten years than release crap. Just because you have a lot of something does not make it good.

If you think Prince is wasting time then maybe you ought to do something relevent with yours. Do you know what Prince was doing with his life when he was 18? do you know how many hits he had under his belt 18 years ago when you were just being BORN? If he came to your town tomorrow could you afford to buy a ticket to see him. think before you post. Hate to bump this thread, but what an obnoxious post. And yes I could afford a ticket, don't even see how that's relevant.

This is basically complaining about Prince being Prince, a true waste of time. 30 years into the career we should all know that he releases a lot of music almost annually. Complaining that he should take his time and only release "good music" is silly at this point. He obviously releases what he thinks is good. If he took more time, we'd just get more triple albums with the same complaints that he should have edited it down to just the "good" songs. "What kind of fuck ending is that?"

Really? So what then did he release in 2008? 2005? 2003? 2002? 2000? Plenty. 2000: The internet release of the songs that would comprise the bulk of "The Chocolate Invasion" and "The Slaughterhouse," in addition to the physical singles sold at the Hit-N-Run tour that fall. Plus the interenet download "Cybersingle" and the "Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic" remix album. 2002: The One Nite Alone... piano album and the One Nite Alone...Live! album 2003: Xpectation and N.E.W.S. 2005: The "S.S.T./Brand New Orleans" single. Plus "Te Amo Corazon" was released before the end of the year 2008: The "F.U.N.K." single was released to iTunes You may not have enjoyed these releases, and some were only available online, but he was plenty active during those years.

Don't expect facts and logic to pierce through Bart's biased vitriol! I almost cant believe that Bart is actually trying to insinuate that one of the most productive artists ever is lacking in terms of how busy he is! Completely ludicrous, you old whingebag! This thread is ridiculous though - Prince is one of the most prolific artists of his generation. He's up there with legends like Zappa in terms of output - accusing him of wasting time is without any basis - its just greed on your part. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
