I don't own physical copies of four releases (The Undertaker, Goldnigga, ONA Piano, Kamasutra).

I have most of the officially released albums. The only ones I still don't own physical copies of are The Truth, Kamasutra, ONA piano disc, Goldnigga, and Exodus.

(I'm not counting stuff like C-Note, and Chocolate Invasion and so on as those never had a physical release to begin with).

I own every Prince/NPG/Madhouse (official copies of those were certainly hard to track down) album, including all NPGMC content, except "The Very Best of Prince", which I saw no reason to buy. My associated artists collection is a bit incomplete.

I saw someone mention The Undertaker above, was that ever an official album release? If so, I'm missing that one (but now have the copy from the lotus web site).

As far as I know, The Undertaker was never "officially" released on cd, as it was pulled before release. So it's technically a bootleg.

A CD pressed for official release but ultimately not released is not a bootleg.

True, but what category does that put it in then? The same as the Black Album was before it was officially released in '94?

As far as stuff that was actually released in a store, not some bullshiz wma or mp3, I don't own N.E.W.S., or One Nite Alone Live. Oddly, I don't own The Hits/The B-sides, only The Hits 1 and The Hits 2.

I don't own Goldnigga either.

The category would be: Rare. The 1987 Black Album was released and withdrawn, so limited legitimate copies circulated in CD and Vinyl form. The Undertaker copies that escaped death are indeed legitimate, though were coated with "shellac" in an effort to destroy them. There's a cleaned up legit copy for sale in the Marketplace forum right now, though it may have ended. Other rare withdrawn CDs would me the MPLS EP and Tamar's Japanese CD of Milk And Honey (also in the Marketplace).

All of these have been bootlegged/counterfeited, but they still exist in legitimate factory pressed form.

C-Note, Xpectation, The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse were at one time slated to be part of a CD set, but Prince pulled the plug and only released them as lossy WMAs.

I have The War on cassette too. It came with a shirt in my mailbox after the Crystal Ball fiasco as a make-good. Which was pretty cool. I eventually bought The War on CD from either the Uptown NPG Store or from 1-800-New Funk/NPGMC.

can anyone confirm if that Tamar album is genuine - I know copies were pressed in Japan but these versions that have been up for sale on ebay have videos or the audio of the Prince/Tamar performance on the brits awards as a bonus - doesn't sound right.....

I can't vouch for this guy http://prince.org/msg/9/318854 with the Milk And Honey CD (the photo seems correct, though is it a photo of what he is actually selling? I guess I would inquire further). Anything with "bonus" stuff is usually a red flag that it's a counterfeit.

For instance, the Goldnigga with the 2gether mixes is a fake.
