What's in your vault?

Seeing that it's been over ten years since Prince released Crystal Ball, and I suppose we are not going to see a Vol. II any time soon, I decided, for fun, to go through my own personal "vault" and take matters into my own hands. I put together a 3 CD set, similar to what came out in 1998, of more unreleased material. The sound quality had to be pristine, or very close to it, for inclusion. Here's what I put together for my version of Crystal Ball Vol. II:

Disk I
1. Rebirth of the Flesh
2. Visions
3. Train
4. The Sex of It
5. All My Dreams
6. God Is Alive
7. Witness 4 the Prosecution
8. Play
9. U Gotta Shake Something!
10. A Place in Heaven (Prince vocal)

Disk II
1. The Ride (studio)
2. 2020
3. Feel Good
4. Come (Glam Slam Ulysses version)
5. Endorphinmachine (segues from above)
6. Eye Am the DJ
7. Journey 2 the Centre of Your Heart
8. Rootie Kazootie
9. The Undertaker
10. The Grand Progression

Disk II
1. Glam Slam '91
2. Asswoop
3. Computer Blue (7:33 version)
4. Get On Up
5. The Line
6. 12:01 (live in LA 3-29-04)
7. 51 Hours
8. Murph Drag
9. Work That Fat
10. Letter 4 Miles

What do you think? It is, like the 1998 release, sprawling and patchy. I was severely limited by issues of quality and I wanted to include stuff that for the most part hadn't before been available. So I included a few associated artist songs, plus a few alternate takes of already released songs. I decided to stick with the format of thirty tracks, ten per disk.
Overall, I think this is the best I could do. The question is, what could you put together for a do-it-yourself Crystal Ball Vol. II, using what you have in your collection?

i love the studio version and the crystal ball version. Prince fans have crazy opinions but we're all entitled to our own.

I think most of us would just love to see another vault release.

So many great songs we know about and probably a load we don't.

I wouldn't even mind if he included the odd rare track such as the NPGMC stuff that didn't get an album release.

I would love to hear more of his 1987-1989 recordings, there's not a great deal from this period out there but there was some great stuff from this period that rarely gets a mention such as Good Man, Your Love Is so Hard, If I had a Harem, Big House.

Yeah the end gets really funky - with the "oh by the way i play guitar"

very hypnotic beat construction when you listen to the extended beats at the end.

....

in my vault is my cover of 'shes always in my hair' (seriously). due to fear of legal retaliation it will probably never be heard. (not so seriously, mostly just fear of ridicule wink )
