When I went back and read Blackguitaristz's thread on "All The Hippes" I immediately though of this song. So she appeals to white people?

Maybe he can get the Rape part out of the song Why edit out the lines aboout rape? It's part of what gives the song its attitude! I definitely don't want him "re-doing" this track, as MPLSound is proof he doesn't know how program the Linn machine AND be inventive anymore. Furthermore, he'd probably say something like "if you ever need someone to pray with, call me up and say amen!" If this ever sees the official light of day, I'd hope it'd be just as it is, with no edits or out-of-nowhere jazz lines/licks!

Then do everything to make it go away.

I think that the "Don't make me rape u" AND "Dez, don't u like my band? bit had a lot to do with why P didn't release this. I've read where the song was originally written for Vanity 6's second album as well. Like "No Call U". IF he hadn't included the part about Dez not digging his band, it would have been a cool b-side to Little Red Corvette. It certainly would have been better than a b-side like "Horny Toad". He could have also edited out the part about Dez since Dez was still in the band, although he was on his way out after the 1999 tour. The "Don't make me rape u" bit, hell, P could have easily left that in. It certainly would have fit in line with the rest of the somewhat violent imagery of certain elements of the 1999 album. I just don't think P was that on fire about the track overall to include it on the album. But again, it would have been a great b-side. Would have loved to have had this as a 12' inch. Also, parts of this has always reminded me of Mazarati's "Strawberry Lover", another song that I ADORE. Maybe that's why P namechecks Brown Mark's name in this more than anybody else's in the song. I don't know...prince beeing prince I guess Oh hell nah. Fuck that. I'll never condone rape either. But P has said some way out shit before. His version of Jerk Out is a trip. Also from the same period as this. Anyway, as far as Dez, Dez had been wanting to do his own thing pretty much as soon as he was in P's band. He had a gig at First Ave as a solo artist back in 81 with his own band , the whole 9. He was going to try to do both. Plus P knew that Dez wasn't going to stick around for too much longer. So that's what that line is about somewhat, I think. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

for religious reasons BS??? yeah P says some way out shit...So when I herd that line, I was shocked. but not surprized...If that makes sence To let Dez tell it in his book, he was torn between not feeling comfortable doing the racier material as well as wanting to strike out on his own. As far as the way out shit I stated earlier, here's a lyric from P's version of Jerk Out, also from the same period as Extra Loveable. Jerk Out was a song that he also offered to Mazarati but Sir Casey, the lead vocalist, wasn't comfortable with the lyrics...So P edited out shit and gave it to The Time. An original Prince lyric to the song Jerk Out..... "I took her 2 my crib and I tied her up I figured that's what she liked Maybe I was wrong but what the hell It didn't matter 2 me, she was white."
