I have heard the entire CD and it sounds like Prince has put his foot in this CD, so to speak; even down to the remake of "Changes" from Jimi Hendrix.nod

I don't hear any Prince touches. The rhythm section especially doesn't sound like P.

Very much doubt it as he isnt even mentioned in the credits/thankyous. Seeing as she was in the band however brief you would have thought he would of got a shout out at the very least I wondered if they`d fallen out!!

Listen, in the past, Prince was involved with alot of projects that you didn't hear about his involvement until years later. I personally didn't know that Prince had written the first lyrics to "Bad" by MJ. I think that he has had some involvement with Ledisi's CD.

He wasn't mentioned in the credits from what I saw in the commercial. Isn't she part of the Honey Collective that he's been hanging with recently?

You may have heard MPls sound as Jam and Lewis helped produce the CD!

Ledisi: Now I have a band I use in D.C., and the singers are from Oakland, and I also have a horn section from Baltimore, and it’s even more fun calling cues. What I do with the music, and what I think most performers should do, and I’m not saying they don’t, but the newer era that’s coming up have to study even more. How the greats did it, like James Brown, and Prince, and the Motown era, all those people did steps and moves and everything. I’ve studied that, and now I’ve incorporated that into my set. I watched how the greats do it, and I’m thinking “Wow! I need to do that more”. I did it a little bit in my beginning, but now it’s really a big thing. It’s my style. I come out doing dances, and the shimmy dresses, and rockin’ in high heels. You remember the old Ledisi, she wouldn’t have heels on too long. Now I wear them the whole show.

Well that's just not true.

Michael wanted Prince to duet with him on "Bad". Prince said no. That's it. He most certainly did not write any lyrics.

I watched a tribute to Michael when an insider stated that Prince wrote the opening lyric to "Bad". I had heard about the duets years ago, but not about the lyric. Prince has even mentioned the duet.

I don't know who the insider is/was, but that is definitely not true. Prince did reference the 1st line stating that he wasn't going to sing that to Michael, and he (MJ) certainly ain't gonna sing it to me.

I love Ledisi, but I'm not feeling her latest album. I didn't expect it to be as good as Lost & Found, but it seems totally different and I'm just not getting into it.

If Prince did have a hand it, I can't really say I think it helped things.

He premiered Turn Me Loose on Jay Leno and a studio version was released to a radio station. The studio version is quite good.

I guess that was the entire reason why I thought that Prince could possible be involved with this project of Ledisi's new CD since he and Ledisi were on Jay Leno performing his version of Turn Me Loose....

Considering Ledisi isn't a Latina barbie doll or a bushy haired mulatto, I would assume that Prince had no part in her CD despite her signing with him for several performances. She did say in an interview that one of the ballads was Prince-like. That's about it.

"On the lead single, "Goin' Thru Changes," which she likens to a "sexy Prince-like ballad," she sings about infidelity."

The full article explains why this albums sounds so different.

lol Hey blackguitaristz, am I lying? The track record speaks for itself. Tamar was truly the exception, and her album never saw the (official) light of day. Just stating facts as I have observed them. wink

Yall are so cold-blooded..let's give Prince the benefit of the doubt lol maybe he helped Ledisi in light of the Tamar non-official CD release. But on one of the tracks "Changes" it sure could be old boy playing guitar....

I don't know, I just really dig the vibe on this CD. I mean, I loved "Lost and Found", but in this CD she has switched it up a bit and I love the groove to this CD here... cool cool
