What are "chemtrails"?

I recently saw Prince on youtube in an interview with Tavis Smiley where he was babbling about "chemtrails" in the sky. This is a bunch of malarkey that Prince said he got from that idiot Gick Gregory. The same Dick Gregory who spouts on about his belief in Numerology. Prince said "white folk" especially need to know about this? So, being "white folk", what is a "chemtrail"?

It's crazy conspiracy bullshit.
I remember first hearing of "chemtrails" back in the mid 90's, when the same lunatics who believed in that also thought that black U.N. helicopters were swirling all about to, oh, let's just say, take over the world for whatever reason. And at the same time still, there were persistant rumors from the same crowd that Clinton was going to detonate 10 nuclear bombs in American cities so he could take over the country in the ensuing "emergency".

I guess the sequel to that last bit of garbage is "Bush knew", brought to you by the 9/11 conspiracy fartbrains.

Anyoldhoo, the chemtrails are supposed to be drugging us in some manner.
Which is completely laughable for no shortage of reasons, including:

If the idea, as some say, is to "brainwash" us politically, it's failed miserably. Or haven't they noticed how politics has only become more divisive in our recent history.
And if, as some say, it's to drug us into some sort of social "submission", we've already done that to ourselves (and gladly) with all method of substance legal and not. Who needs chemtrails when I've got vodka, xanax and a joint?

Finally, as with many such insanely stupid conspiracy theories, to believe in it, one must also believe that those at the lowest level carrying out the diabolical orders (in this case, pilots) would knowingly if not gladly perpetrate this behavior on innocent civilians, all the while never balking at the order, or coming clean in some manner, either presently or later out of guilt, to the american public (let's say, with a well placed phone call to the washington post).

But with all the crazy shit Prince believes, I'm sadly not surprised he'd swallow this one hook, line and sinker.

The chemtrail conspiracy theory holds that some contrails are actually chemicals or biological agents deliberately sprayed at high altitudes for a purpose undisclosed to the general public. Versions of the chemtrail conspiracy theory circulating on the internet and radio talk shows theorize that the activity is directed by government officials.[1] As a result, federal agencies have received thousands of complaints from people who have demanded an explanation.[2] The existence of chemtrails has been repeatedly refuted by government agencies and scientists around the world.[3]

The United States Air Force has stated that the theory is a hoax which "has been investigated and refuted by many established and accredited universities, scientific organizations, and major media publications".[4] The British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has stated that chemtrails "are not scientifically recognised phenomena".[5] The Canadian Government House Leader has stated that "The term 'chemtrails' is a popularized expression, and there is no scientific evidence to support their existence."[6]

The term chemtrail is derived from "chemical trail" in the similar fashion that contrail is an abbreviation for condensation trail. It does not refer to common forms of aerial spraying such as crop dusting, cloud seeding or aerial firefighting. The term specifically refers to aerial trails allegedly caused by the systematic high-altitude release of chemical substances not found in ordinary contrails, resulting in the appearance of supposedly uncharacteristic sky tracks. Believers of this theory speculate that the purpose of the chemical release may be for global dimming, population control, weather control, or biowarfare and claim that these trails are causing respiratory illnesses and other health problems.[7]

That said, I have a dear friend who has devoted much of her free time to stopping chem trails.

Whose to say what is or what isn't. Subliminal messages, tuskegee study.

I'm not saying chemtrails are real but... the thing is if a government did something crazy who would believe the conspiracy theories...? see what I mean... they could get away with a lot really as if you say you think x,y or z about it people say 'you crazy man' so they would just get away with it as the general public would never believe it. I'm not talking about just chemtrails, I'm not sure what I think about them I'm talking more about all conspiracy theories really, as so many crazy ones - you could hide the truth amongst them...

I think that chemtrail believers make the distinction that regular condensation trails from planes soon evaporate; whereas chemtrails stay in the air for hours(sometimes forming clouds).

It has actually been done in the UK for several decades. It is not far fetched by any means.

Report on the "secret trials" the british population were secretly subjected to:
http://www.guardian.co.uk...calscience

& here is a link to an indepth scientific report into the chemicals present in these supposed "chemtrails" and their effect on the human body:
http://ces.iisc.ernet.in/...rw623.html

Interesting stuff, whether u believe the conspiracies or not.
