"halo" is a rancid song. And even something as great as "Adore" couldn't save it in a mash up.

Besides, they already sang together.

i'll take this in reverse order....yes, they sang together (5+ years ago). they are not on RECORD together, though. and i did not indicate that I wanted to hear "Halo"--simply something that moved SOME people. Halo rancid??? Okay. How about Jermaine Jackson's rendition of "Smile"? I can STILL smell that stench.

DEAR GOD PLEASE NOOOOO!

It was bad enough she was onstage at the Grammy's with him a few years back.
THAT really seemed like a desperation move on his part.

Anything beyond that would prove him desperate.

Besides, until he's a label mate with her, I'm sure her label would never permit it and since he's burned pretty much all bridges with major labels, it won't happen.
I rest easier believing that, at least.

I'd rather see Bria Valente in 'Elixer 2: The Fan Dancer's Revenge.'

I'm sure he knew.
Read what I said--it seemed like desperation on HIS part.

I don't know why I'm replying, your post deteriorates into gibberish fairly quickly and I'm guessing 'coherent' isn't your first language.

I smell bullshit. If you're pulling random shit out of the sky, you can make an argument for anything. Halo and Smile are two totally different situations, songs, singers, and productions.

you trying singing a song dedicated to your brother who just died. i think he did an amazing job.

I remember reading an interview that stated that prince made beyonce rehearse for 10 hours straight for that performance and she was still terrible.

a duet with prince and tina would be better, afterall beyonce is just a pale tina imitation

Seconded... He's having enough trouble on his own without going for a 'Rave in2' sequal with even more contemporary 'artists'...

While I like Beyonce I think their collaboration at the Grammys was enough and I don't think over-emotional songs like 'Halo' would suit Prince's style.

I would *love* to see a collaboration with Mary J. Blige though but can't think what style would suit them both.

I did not perceive the Grammy performance as an act of desperation. Award shows and other specials are always trying to pair big names; it allows them to get more bang for the buck or more stars within the two-hour limit. I enjoyed their performance. In fact, I've seen Beyonce live twice, and both times were great. She's well worth the popcorn. I've seen a lot of major acts in my lifetime: James Brown (three times), Parliament/Funkadelic (several times), Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder (twice), B. B. King, Buddy Guy, Earth Wind and Fire, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Roger and Zapp, Prince, and many more, and Beyonce's show holds its own.

Now as far as a studio duet, it would probably work better if Prince wrote the song. I think that it would be interesting to see it happen. But, then again, it is not likely. I'm still waiting on Prince to respond to B. B. King's request to play together.

oh, i forgot, ernie runs this spot. he knows everything there is to know about prince and his day-to-day activities. I played "Soft and Wet" and "Head" for my mom's friend in 1981. You're talking to a person who is the same age as you and a person who has been listening to prince since "Prince" came out. I think your main problem with this thread is that i am talking about a beautiful, sexy, talented young woman, and that's not your cup of tea. It's okay...I have a gay friend. The difference between you and he is he is not an ogie from the skogie know-it-all, but since you've got the moderators in your hip pocket, i imagine this will be my last post. i better make it good then, huh? now, "smile" (a fucked-up, self-help oriented song if ever there was one) is a different song than the one I mentioned. So what????? did i ever mention prince had to do "halo" or "say my name" or anything from wham, boy george, frankie goes to hollywood, etc., etc., etc.??? i happen to like the song. if you don't, and want to sit in a rubber room listening to "Faith," "Father Figure," etc., please do so. in the meantime, soak up that po-dunk oklahoma sun, my boy, and RELAX--knowing everything isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I actually recall Prince sayinhg back when Destiny's Child were singing "Bills, Bills, Bills" that Beyonce has an amazing voice but she's singing crap(in regard tto the lyrics). Probably high on his list of to do things. I did hear Solange say when she met him he actually knew about her second cd of music and it shocked her.

I've got a new thread and a dildo 4 U. If U don't like the new thread then U can go fuck yourself!

No idea who this ernie is you speak of. But to get back on track about me being right about you pulling random shit out of the sky to make an argument, let's examine the facts:
-"Halo" wasn't sung by a man grieving for his dead brother in front of the world while having ear piece and audio problems.
-"Halo" was recorded in a studio, in a control situation, and was had the fuckery tweaked out of it after the fact.
-You implied that "Halo" was better than "Smile".
-And I state again, "Halo and Smile are two totally different situations, songs, singers, and productions."

You can yammer on all day, sunshine, but I'm right.
