Did Prince ever comment on Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Cake Boy" It's obvious who this song was directed at... or at least inspired by.

That is funny! Never heard this song which does appear to be a B-side and about Prince! Thanks for sharing

Yes. (In my opinion) Prince's answer to Mix-a-lot was "P-Control".

Even the guitar riff is reminiscent of "Kiss". I always thought this song was funny as hell!!! Even the line... "Does a man have a body like this" is a straight take on Prince's How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore" act. http://www.youtube.com/wa...H7bzcYVeps I think this was the B-side of "Baby Got Back" Whatever... it's still a funny tune. Weeelllll, considering that one line about "his cash flow is low"...since Prince's cash flow ain't never been low. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it wasn't necessarily about Prince but more about the guys running around acting like Prince.
Of course, I'm a Liberal! I'm an American, damn it!

This song came out in '92... which is when Prince was doing his "yellow" thing... with the yellow car (BMW though, not a Camaro) in the Gangsta Glam video.

But still, had I heard this back in the day, I'd have probably ripped Sir Mix A Lot a new asshole for the Prince similarity references! That part kind of stood out to me too. Naw, that shoo ain't Prince. But funny song though. Never again, not I.

It's about Prince and Prince-types of that whole era I suppose. Ready for the World, etc. But hey... at least it's funny.
