Who Wrote: "Gigolo's Get Lonely Too?"

I'm not sure who wrote this song, I always wondered if it was Prince.

Nevertheless, it is a great song, so this is just an appreciation for an oldie but great! cool

That is a line from a Louie Louie song, "Sittin' In the Lap of Luxury" from 1990. The writing credits are from Louie and Les Pierce. Is that the song you're thinking of? (It's one of many the guy has that sound like Prince.)

No, I am talking about "The Time's" song.

I love "Sittin' in the lap of Luxury," by Louie Louie though. I also love his versing of Prince's song, "Get Blue." cool

It's well known that Prince wrote this song after a long conversation with Wishuhvn...From the outside looking in, it seems like a great life but in fact contrary to rumor, I get lonely too sad

The Time rule of thumb:

Funky = Prince
Ballad = Prince
Rocky = Someone else in the band (see "Blondie" or "Skillet")

Very Cool. It's one of those songs that the R&B stations still play here and there, but I haven't heard it in awhile.

I love the song, and I love Morris singing it 2...It's just one of those great songs.

The Lonely Gigolo is stereotypical in theory, although this song has got to be the world's best description of that Manly Mood. cool

I particularly like these two lines.....there's more meaning in
these two lines than the whole song put together...think about it.

Just once I wanna make love with somebody who knows"

Except for the stuff that was written by Dez, Lisa,...

Oh, and Pandemonium's writing credits are easily to figure out.

That would be "I Don't Wanna Leave You" which is definitely
a different song entirely.... lol

[Flame snip - luv4u] We are not talking about Dez or Lisa. Most people know they contributed to the Time project Dez has discussed it plenty of times.

We are talking about a great RnB ballad that Prince wrote. So if you have nothing to contribute [Flame snip - luv4u].

Prince wrote " Gigolos get lonely too".

It was originally intended for his "1999" album but Prince decided to give it to the Time and replaced it with "International Lover" on the "1999" album.

I don't know about your beef with Bart but come on

The question was asked who wrote it and we know that Dez & Lisa had a big hand in song writting with Prince for his albums as well as the protege albums

That's interesting, I didn't know that it was an option for that spot on the album. cool

Actually, the only hand Dez and Lisa had writing any of the Time songs were "Cool" (Dez helped out with lyrics), "The Stick" (Lisa came up with the keyboard riff), After High School" (Dez wrote that entire song...), and "Wild And Loose" (co-written by Dez)...But that was it...Prince ran the show...

Now I don't agree with the way Bart got screamed on...But I have a feeling that was more about his reputation for being a asshole troll more than anything else...

Wow I didn't know that! I think 1999 would have been even better with "Gigolos" on it. I never really cared for "International Lover."

Yeah I know Prince lead the way

But even in Barts response there was nothing inciting what happened there...
