who cares about this anymore? he called it off at the last minute,
big deal. this kind of thing happens all the time.

if he has to pay damages, he should and i'm sure they will make him
do so.

by the time there is a ruling we will no doubt see 78 thread about
it in the month after. so i would just sit back and enjoy the summer
and let the lawyers care about this one.

i was born with the wrong sign, in the wrong house, with the wrong ascendancy

The interesting thing is that there is no real contract and no real reason known from Prince to call it off.
Also there were some tickets sold (55k?).
So the more info we get from this case, the better because people could sue the promotor for costs incurred because of the cancellation of the show if there really was no contract.
If there was enough of a deal then we want to know what and why and also what compensation P has to pay.

From a personal point of view, I'm no longer pissed about it. from an interest point of view, I'm interested in understanding the methods of this particular promoter. And i'm curious about the deal, all that with no contract. Seems large scale not to have anything in writing.

anyway July 20th before any movement on it. Expect that will be one party looking for a postponment. He he.

Exactly. It's old news that won't bring Prince to Ireland any faster. For all we know, it may keep him away from the place and that will REALLY suck.

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

this is true cause when he got sued by a italian promoter in 1990, he didn't return there until 2002

It depends on the outcome I guess.
What was the outcome in Italy? (I guess: he had to pay)

Even the more so reason to stay informed.

Who said anything about ignoring anything? The case will go on and a verdict will be reached and hopefully it will be a just one but that does not mean that Prince will EVER come back to Ireland as a result either way. That's what makes it sad cause I can see Prince going "fuck Ireland, let them come to the UK to see me". I hope it doesn't happen but it's not impossible with him.

but what xactly is the problem tho? okay he was supposed 2 do a concert, people bought tickets and made travel plans 2 attend, concert gets cancelled and refunds issued ..and then some still went and met up with people and had a good time..

should i still mop and complain about how the controversy magazine were planning on doing a get 2gether in mpls in sept of 1993 but canceled it because prince was still on tour in europe at the time of the event? no i went still had a blast and met a few prince fans in the process.

dragging on this cancelation and hoping that prince gets nailed 2 the wall because he didn't do the concert is kind of sad in a way.

what u make of the experience if u still went with ur travel plans is all up 2 u and not prince. cause he could have still done the concert and it sucked. then what? sue prince cause he put on a bad concert?

again ..letitgo

People 'let go' a bit too easily or pull Blennheim hyperboles.
Until the case really starts, It'd be interesting to see what really went on, what contacts were made with P's management and what deals were agreed upon at what stages of the concert promotor's sales in Ireland.
