Question About Cat's "Music Is The Key" Rap Thing

Wasn't it featured in another song besides "Cindy C"? Seems like I remember hearing it in something else from that era, or maybe I'm just dreaming it.

I'd be really interested in knowing how Prince even came to know that original song. I don't imagine he was a house music afficianado but what do I know. Not like that song was blowing up the radio here in Minneapolis at the time.

It was in Positivity too, but was cut out of the released version.

Prince wasn't aware of the original track. It was just a rap that Cat used to do
and Prince assumed she'd written herself. Once he found out she hadn't, and
it was actually a cover, he edited it out.

Boris is right. There's an earlier version of "Positivity" out there that has the rap on the end of it, just a bit slower obviously. I think it fits better on "Cindy C" though.

Maybe. I wonder how the Steve Hurley connection occurred when he did the Prince remixes?

Thanks for the info Fishpaw!
