If U had to recommend a Prince album to a wannabe fan

.... and U must select one album since 2000 and not before, which one would U choose?

Pick three albums, no less no more.

My choices for a neophite:

XPECTATION
ONE NITE ALONE
LOTUSFLOW3R

In this listening order

LotusFlow3r
The Gold Experience
Just to start the awakening to Prince fandom cause those are the ones that give a great look or listen into the phenomenon of PRN!!!

But my condition is: U have to choose only from albums that came out since the year 2000 cool

Ok, since 2000:

3121
Planet Earth
Lotusflow3r

Three albums that show Prince's range.

You're phrasing "one album since 2000" is misleading, I initially thought like a previous poster that I only had to pick one album since 2000.

I would definitely go with a live album - Prince should be experienced live! So that would be One Nite Alone!

For those picking LotusFlow3r as one, keep in mind that the thread is about introducing a wannabe Prince fan to his music. Prince makes a wide variety of music. It would be proper to give them both LotusFlow3r and Mplsound as a double cd and let them pick out the styles of music that they like. It would be unintentionally biased to give someone LotusFlow3r without Mplsound or ,vice versa, to give someone Mplsound without Lotusflow3r.

Btw, if by listing Lotusflow3r, you mean all 3 cds, then my bad. I was only talking about LotusFlow3r, the single disc.

I would say to go all the way back to the late 1970's, why would I do otherwise. So far I've enjoyed it and need it all. Without limitations...Prince is amazing and I am greedy. Love Lotusflow3r and have overdosed twice. So much music, he is amazing. Almost too much music...I just bit my tongue. Loved One Nite Alone (both versions), loved the Black album, Musiclogy, loved loveSexy, loved For You, Prince and Dirty Mind. Did I forget Controversy, Oh I loved Around the World in a Day and Grafitti Bridge (but not the title song). Loved Chaos and Disorder, Parade and yes I even loved Planet Earth. Loved 1999...wonder how he knew these things in 1982...who knows. And Sign O the Times?...loved it!! I love the way he shreds on guitar, tickles the ivories and handles the drums. I love his love songs...they make me feel things. I like him dirty and clean, depends on my mood. I would tell a wannabe to listen to all of his music. Limits don't work for a man like this man! If I could send him one message it would be "Thank you and don't stop" For the record I adore the heels...he is a beautiful man. A beautiful and talented man...I wonder what planet he's from. I'd tell a wannabe to start anywhere and go backwards or move forward. They will find something. Did I mention Rave unto the Joy...there is more but my fingers are tired now.

since 2000? that sucks neutral lol. j/k. i guess:

lotus flow3r (cuz it's his most recent and 2 or 3 joint for the price of one giggle)
3121 (most accesible and finest one, imo cool)
ultimate prince razz

no one i know wants to be a prince fan though neutral lol. me and this kid i work with are always arguing about who's better (mj or prince lol). everyone we ask always says mj neutral and i'm always having to defend p's heterosexuality stab lol. they can all eat a dick flipped off lol
life's a bitch, but god forbid the bitch divorce me...

well considering if they are a "wannabe" fan. then they wouldn't like all the obscure stuff prince writes like we do.

so i'd have to go the B.S. route and say

The hits/B sides
Purple Rain
And lotusflow3r/mplsound because it's his newest

oh but since 2000's

Then prince ultimate
The very best of Prince
and loutsflow3r

and then i'd say don't subscribe to the website, u'll get mad eventually
