Which album you love to see remastered and reissued with extra material? My personal favourite: Parade

The parade thing would be nice, especially w/ a good version of "OF4S" segued into "All My Dreams", as it should be. There is a lot of gems from that era.

Definitely - and probably not much point going beyond TGE, as there wouldn't be much of a sonic advantage in doing so. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

Absolutely. Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

I'd take any album from Purple Rain onwards. But the disc 2 would have to be made up from non-circulating songs. Can't see much point in songs we already have. Yes, it would be nice to have some of them in better quality but I like hearing new stuff. And now for a cup of tea.

from a remaster. I'd say "Sign O' The Times" is probably the one most in need. It's probably Prince's most critically acclaimed album (and the fan-favorite), yet, on CD it's probably the worst sounding... too quiet and thin sounding, with a slight harshness to the sound. The vinyl version sounds so much better. The whole album is only a couple of seconds over 80 mins, so could fit onto one CD. Leaving plenty of room for a disc (or two) of bonus material, like... (*previously unreleased) Rebirth Of The Flesh* Housequake (Extended Remix)* The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker (Extended Version)* La, La, La, He, He, Hee (Highly Explosive) Shockadelica (Extended Version) Everybody Want What They Don't Got* Cosmic Day* Strange Relationship (Extended Remix)* Crucial (Full Length Version)* U Got The Look (Long Look) Good Love (Full Length Version) If I Was Your Girlfriend (Extended Version)* Housequake (7 Minute Mo'Quake) Crystal Ball (Extended Version)* Joy In Repetition (Full Length Version)* Adonis And Bathsheba* I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (Extended Remix)* Hot Thing (Remix) Hot Thing (Dub) Adore (Extended Remix)* I like how you think. I would add that Purple Rain is really very badly mastered for CD too, compared to the vinyl. That SOTT you describe would be a dream. Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down.

Yes, Purple Rain would be the obvious place to start for a remaster series (much like U2 did with The Joshua Tree). Something like... [Edited 4/28/09 16:29pm] Very well thought out and definitive, to say the least. I would buy that in a heartbeat. Q: I've watched Purple Rain about a million times, but where in the film is the Possessed instrumental playing? I can't for the life of me place it. I always assumed it was some weird form of "Modernaire". I didn't know about all the other versions of "Possessed", and even with the familiar hook on the "Prince and the Revolution LIVE" VHS, I still didn't pick up on it. It wasn't until about 2003 that I heard THAT version. I have the Blu Ray DVD. My roommate got it for me on Amazon for like $14 or something. Neither of us own a BluRay player. haha Ernest L Sewell, IV

I almost bought the HD-DVD of Purple Rain a when Warners first released both the HD-DVD and Bluray discs. I was leaning towards getting an HD player before Blueray won the battle. I'm glad I waited. I ended up getting a PS3 this past Christmas just for the Bluray capability and it's hard drive I use for music storage. Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down.

Prince could always put another...."Hits," 2gether...and give mention to the fact that it's..."Prince Lover's List." Pull 30 songs from the last 15 years. Last Night, I spent another lonely Christmas...Darlin' Darlin' U shoulda been there.~Prince.
