Songs that you want to hear after the Fadeout...

Don't you hate it at the end of Feel Good, where Prince says "Part 2", and then there's the fadeout? You just know there's a half hour extended jam version sitting in the vault! Have you ever turned Cream right up at the end to hear if he says anything after "Cream baby"? Do you clasp the bridge of your nose in horror as "Sexual Suicide" flips into the most hell-funky jam right at the end and the volume drops away to nothing?

I know these all apply to me...
What are your favourite songs that recede into the aural darkness, and you'd give your Opus Ipod just to hear another minute??

Sexual Suicide segues without a pause into Cloreen Bacon Skin, so the funky jam goes on and on and on... biggrin

sometimes yes and glad that he did release the jam (america)

and there r times where he edited it just right (i would die 4 u remix goes on 4 another 20 mins yawn)
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Sexuality.... I hear the drums kicking in again on the fade, and I just want that groove to go on for days!

but as many others have said, also Around The World In A Day. Vicki Waiting is a good call too. cool

Oh this is fun, and easy...

Without a doubt: "Strange Relationship".

It breaks down into mostly percussion/drums, with that crazy synth, and the chanting vocals. I have ALWAYS wanted 2 hear that jam beyond the fadeout... more than any other fadeout.

Peggy Mac or Susan Rogers noted how Prince kept playing a bit on "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?" but the song was faded a bit earlier for the single. You can sorta hear him really improving as the fade happens. The same goes for the solo on "Guitar". I'd love to hear "U Got The Look" have a definite ending as well. "Take Me With U" has a longer section at the end as well. The glaringly obvious choices are "America" (which was released I guess, on 12" but I'd still like to hear the tape run out, which it did just before the fade), and "The Ladder". "I Would Die 4 U" 12" is another (the 30 minute jam booted out).

There's a lot.

Yes! I must admit, I was thinking of Take Me With You when I started the topic. I had this 'ending' in my head, and I sort of reverse engineered it back to Take Me With You. Those purple rain arrangements are the bomb. So many great codas and intros!

The 12" version of "U got the look" has a definite ending.

I agree with "Guitar" and "How come u don't call me anymore"

Can't Stop This Feeling I Got - It just starts an interesting minor key
groove, with some guitar soloing and fades out. I'd like to hear what
happens next.

I miss the days of the 12" version. Particularly the ones that were just
extensions of the album version, like Kiss, Mountains or America. These
days we only ever get to hear the 'album version' of songs.
