If/when the "Purple Rain" CD is reissued...

the one thing I want more than anything else is for the songs to be restored to their original unedited state. None of the tracks were cut down for artistic reasons, but rather to fit the limitations of vinyl. When you play the full restored album from front to back -- like on DJ Foefur's "Purple Rain" remaster, for example -- it makes listening to this masterwork even more astonishing.

IMO, every edited song benefits by having its removed bits reinstated, even where the cuts are minimal. (And that's to say nothing of "Computer Blue," which is just reduced to a sliver on the official release.) I know this won't happen even if we eventually get a remastered reissue -- but boy would it make me happy to see this classic restored to its complete glory!

Im waiting for 1999 remaster/issue. Yall can have Purple rain.

You won't be getting either. I know very little about the inner working of Prince, but I do know for a fact he wouldn't allow an the Ultimate compilation to be released with Erotic City on it. Therefore, anything with those big bad swear words or anything that goes against his current colonized mind, is not going to be getting the 2 CD remaster and reissue treatment.

Hmmmm. Why oh why doesnt he just embrace what he did that got him where he is today

I'm not giving you an opinion, I'm giving you fact.

If there's a 'curse' word, Prince isn't going to re-release it. In his mind, saying 'ass' in Girls and Boys is a more dire sin than sexual innuendo.

However it will NEVER happen.

Prince doesn;t care about his fans.
