Ol Skool Company is Dear Mr. Mans cousin

More hardhitting beatwise though. Sing Dear Mr Man to it an see how it matches up.

Beg pardon if this was already discussed.

• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

I think Dear Mr. Man was the better song, although I love both.

I also think Dear Mr. Man had hit potential on some level if it was marketed correctly. And maybe if it written and performed by a new artist.

Sorry I was half asleep when I wrote that.

I know what I mean, just having a hard time explaining.

I think no one could do Dear Mr Man better than Prince.

But I think Prince has the curse of being "Prince" so therefore the song wouldn't have been given a chance as much as if maybe, say, India Arie did the song.

I think Dear Mr Man is an excellent song and could have been a relatively big hit in certain demographics. But because it was Prince it may not have been given the chance. Does that make any sense?

i get that, Prince being Prince is a disaster outside the fanzone and the odd person that has an ear for music. Even the so called rubbish Prince brings out, and it is sometimes awful, like PE, matches the crap on the top 40. Even people i know that are musicians, have no clue, they have a capability to hit a chord, but the rest is 0, which makes me happy i didnt ever try to be a musician lol

If it were not for insanity, I would be a sane man today

So began the mass illusion, war on terror alibi
What's the use when the god of confusion keeps on telling the same lie?

Ol' Skool is the lighter side of Dear Mr. Man which has rather heavy music messages in it. Like them both

I heard the album version a few days ago... and I was actually thinking that the notes he sings the verses in sounded so much like the verses in "Dear Mr. Man"
And the things he talks about in this song seem to fall into the same vein. Only instead of talking politics, he's calling out the posers in the music industry thumbs up!

one of the few good things I picked up from MPLSound

cloud9 The instant I heard Gold’s first note, it became Prince’s mark on my soul: a tattoo I wear with pride.
mushy Prince is Dreamy, gives my Life that Pop and 2 the industry, he’s Royalty. cool
