Prince and Santana

I don't know where I read that Prince and Santana had once preformed together. I cannot find any info that confirms that. Does anyone know? If so when was that?

They've performed a couple of times together. Once on the Jam Of The Year Tour (10/10/97 Moutainview), and once on the One Nite Alone Tour also (date/city escapes me). Probably a couple of other times as well, but I can't recall off the top of my head.

I remember reading on here (I think Michael B told the story) about something Prince did with Santana and did Santana better than Santana. I hope that makes sense. Prince was supposedly bragging about it in rehearsal the next day and had a tape of it and everything.

I think it's interesting that Santana has an album called "Lotus" and another collaboration called "Lotus Gems".

Inspiration for LotusFlow3r?

I always thought Graffiti Bridge was a mashup title of Physical Graffiti and Rainbow Bridge too (Zeppelin/Hendrix).

i saw 1nce in Rolling Stone magazine that Prince played bass in 1 Santana concert in Minni. it was quite a while ago and it had a picture of it. i think that it was around the gold era.

Thank you so much for the answers. It doesn't surprise me that prince would "out-do" Santana. I think music is pretty much his world. He his talent is a truly organic gift that many artists must work hard to try to achieve. Most artists never will.
