Glad to see Prince has maintained his pop sensibilities.....even when he sings a song with absolutely no melody or no hook.

WTF

LOL

It's already on the site nod. The performance starts around the 38:00 minute mark, btw.

No sense arguing with fools.....from a distance people can't tell who is who! Keep the postive energy flowing and you will recieve it too, if others don't feel that way, fuck em, it's all good.

oh my this should be a sticky thumbs up!

The performance was clunky, because he hasn't played live in a while. The restraints of tv made it hard to finish that guitar solo. lol

I couldn't find a shortened clip, but the whole episode is up on NBC.com:

http://www.nbc.com/The_To...id=1072661

Make sure you manually move the video cursor after the last dash on the video toolbar (those dashes are for online commercials) and you'll get Prince's performance.

I'm am going to have to agree with some, thought the performance was a sleeper. He should of skipped the entire "go clap with the crowd" part and just went into a sick solo. I think it would have saved the performance. I hope he picks something where he can actually play for the next night --- sing through his guitar... ie Fury on SNL

Anxiety

my thoughts, for what they're worth...

i thought he looked great, and i especially liked the drag queen eye makeup. bow

technically speaking, he sounded just fine, but i think it came off as phoned-in. i didn't feel the fire in his belly and he didn't seem to be exuding the personality that has wowed me over the years. it just felt like a competent performance by a seasoned veteran rock star.

i LOVE the disco jellyfish stage props. lol

and that harmonica player...wow...i'm glad they found a way to put tommy barbarella's old wardrobe to good use. lol

the song was nicely different although i prefer the studioversion.

performance was good enough, although yonnet walking around in the
back in that weird long coat, doing nothing until he finally blew
his harmonica really distracted my attention.

i was like "who's that drunk fool walking in and out of the shot?"

lol

could have done without that 1997 revisit "the go-go's" moment a la
marva king. that kind of took the step out of the performance.

he should have blistered it up with some funky hardcore guitar in
that time.

still, i liked it. nice!

Boring. That's the best word to describe that performance. I was just glad "Mr. Hollywood" took those bug-eyed glasses off. I didn't give a shit about the shoes. He and his band needs to start having some kind of CHOREOGRAPHY or something, because his stage shows have become extremely boring to look at these days. You could close your eyes and not miss a damn thing. The audio of them is just all right at that, too.

The song was just meh, though his reworking of it was slightly better than what's on the album.

No, it's not you. As soon as that harmonica dork started playing over Prince's solo everything went south. Prince looked clean and I'm glad he took off the shades -- but yeah, that was kind of the highlight.

Thank you.

That was the exact moment I was talking about when the song seemed to come unglued. I liked it though.

I agree. I didn't like it because of had too many current events / news topics.
I use music to escape reality and I don't know an entertainer throwing it in my ears! I love P, don't get me wrong, but he's as boring and depressing as the evening news. Well, i take that back.....he making the evening new more funky, by adding bass, drums and guitar riffs!

when i first heard the opening PRain melody i was like "Here we go again". Just go into the damn song and leave all that 80s shit behind already. Otherwise it was a cool performance, not outstanding, but cool. I told y'all Bria would not be there hmph!

Other than admiring how hot my man looked and how hot Halle always looks, I could not help thinking. "Prince and Halle on the same show and there exes are somewhere do the freakdeaky." How weird is that? neutral
