Emancipation is my fave P album!!!!

I loveeee this album, n have worked out its actually my fave P album, i think its so under rated!!! is it neone elses fave album???

It is underrated but it's not my favorite.

It's cool it's your fav.....I personally was disappointed in the album. He could have made 1 solid album from the best of the tracks. I love "Joint 2 Joint" - I think it's one of the last examples of Prince successfully doing something wacked out and kinda innovative songwriting-wise.

But there are lots of nice gems on that album...Jam of the Year, Friend, Lover, Sister...Soul Sanctuary....nice.

I only like one song from the entire album.

As someone above said though, it's got both the best and worst of Prince on there. I personally think that Emancipation has a lot of great moments, but it doesn't add up to a satisfying whole.

. i like most of it. too many songs i really can't stand on it for it to be any kind of a favorite for me, but a few classics too

It's a great album. It's been a grower for me. I think maybe some his fans sleep of this album because of it a grower album. I think it's one fans need to go back and let sink in. Songs like "The Love We Make" are just plain beautiful!

It's in my top 6 but not my favorite which is still Purple Rain.

Emancipation is underrated and shows how eclectic Prince is, with songs that vary so much musically.

"Emancipation" isn't just the worst Prince album - it's also the worst album I've heard by anybody. Awful songs, terrible production, dreadful artwork... I can't think of anything positive to say about it.

not comparing, the album is extremely solid. if we got an album like that from someone else we would be like dayamn!

but, even as a prince album, it succeeds. its nothing like a past album which is what he does at his best.

maybe i'll go back it give it all another listen. i was sooooo underwhelmed by it after i got it years later. White Mansion is the only thing that stood out on first listen. Everything else seemed mediocre at best. Holy River is good too

I have a soft spot in my heart for Emancipation. It is not his worst album, not by a long shot.

The songwriting on most of the tracks is actually very good . . . it's the "plastic" production that hurts the tracks. A lot of it does sound like he recorded it all by himself (which has often been the case, but rarely sounds like it).
