quality over quantity

would u prefer a new p cd once a year that u get excited over then retire to collect dust or would u rather wait and get a cd of gems. Discuss.

4 the record im in the latter. I dont even know where my 3121 or planet earth cds r ( dont tell L4 LOL) and i only played the 21 nights cd once. But listening to a collection of 80s songs today put a huge smile on my face and believe me after a day of pounding the pavements job hunting i needed it. Whole albums make my mp3 player but later albums i cherry pick only a few. Pls tell me the new stuff will change my attitude as i havent heard any of it yet.

I'd prefer quality, and for me that means sticking to my old stuff. I never even listened to the cd that came with the 21 nights book.

I'll listen to anything Prince does at least once....I don't know how you can have a prince cd sat there that you've never listened too!

Yes, I agree with most of what you say PRB but the point is, you still never know what you are going to get with Prince...and the only way you get to know that is by listening to the CD's surely!....to have a Prince CD sat there and never hear it because you only listen to the classics is a little pointless don't ya think?

My understanding of a fan is someone who enjoys listening to a particular artist's music quite a lot...but you don't have to like everyhting you hear, just the majority of it... I don't like the majority of Elton John's music..hence I don't class myself a fan.

Back in the 60's, 70's and 80's boundaries could be pushed and music could be really different. But in this day and age, what boundaries are left to push?

I'll listen to everything Prince produces..will I like it all...probabley not...will I like most of it, probabley...will I always be a Prince fan...most definately.

I want quality and quantity but I love getting something new from Prince every year. It's a big reason why I went from being a big Prince fan to a diehard Prince fan in 1991. I love getting something new from the dude, like a present you get at Christmas. It's just fun for me.
