how would you feel about Prince adopting a new religion? I've been coming to this site for a little while and recently people have been making references to lotus flowers and buddhism, so I just thought I'd start a thread to see how you would feel if Prince decided to experiment with buddhism...

I'm sure there's a few ladies here who wouldnt mind in the least if he paid a visit to their "pulpits" and worshipped their "holy grail" as apparently only the Prince of Sex knows how...

I would feel the same as I do about his current religion. His choice. And now for a cup of tea.

It's his choice. Period. Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

I'd feel much better if he dropped it altogether 2009: Mermaids and Dolphins...

It's his choice of course, but upon thinking it over,

As long as he identifies with it and his old songs and lyrics too, I'd be happy. I don't care which religion he choses, I'm into his music, but that includes Days Of Wild and Face Down with original lyrics for example

And there we have it, kids. I don't think the majority of fans give two figs what religious practice lil lady chooses to follow. It's the self-censoring that comes along with his interpretation of a certain faith that bugs the shit out of people IMO. We are stardust. We are golden.

I just don't like the exclusivity involved when he pushes forward specific doctrinal beliefs so often. The less he does that, the happier I am when listening to his new songs. I mean, seriously, denying evolution in the year 2009? Jesus holy fuck, Prince! The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Every religion pisses me off. If he became an agnostic, i would have much more respect for him as a person.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think that passage means anything at all, nevermind anti-evolutionism. But if that is what he intended with it? We are stardust. We are golden.

He can become a Zoroastrian as far as I am concerned, as long as he keeps putting out good music. Ithaca's Number 1 Prince Fan

Well, the purpose of the song is him introducing and thus denouncing all societal ills as what he sees as the main issues that hold us back from spiritual liberation. The last part of that lyric is an allusion to the old creationism argument that something cannot derive from nothing. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
