Prince driving a Cadillac on stage?

Okay, so I just watched the Erotic City live from Dortmund video and Prince is on stage driving a real Cadillac. I don't think that would fly these days, especially after accidents like Great White had.

But a couple questions...

1) Couldn't the crowd die from carbon monoxide fumes?

2) What if Prince had a female-moment and stepped on the gas instead of the brake and ran the car directly into the audience?

And what I mean by a "female-moment", well, ya'll know what I mean. Don't act like ya don't!

Well that would make sense. Imagine how expensive that stage set-up must have been to lug around from gig to gig!

That clip is funny!

Re: your point about the cadi, I think the crowd was pretty safe as I don't think he was really driving!

I think it was on a hydraulic arm! You can see it if you look carefully.

Plus, if he was driving, it is the worst driving I've seen...he goes around a slight bend likes he's driving round a 50 pence piece (If you don't know UK coingae, it's shaped like the pentagon!

The second clue is when Prince, Cat and sheila E are on top of the car....who's driving them!!

eek
I heard the rip when you sat down!

Okay, okay. So it was on a hydraulic lift. But if a female was behind the wheel she'd find SOME way to crash it into the audience.

haha j/k

Hi, Prince actually gave BBC (British TV) footage for a documentary back in 1988 which showed the car being assembled on the stage, on a track. Also the car is a replica of the 67 thunderbird in the Alphabet St video which was a gift from his dad. smile
God bless us cos we fonky

Yes, the white T-bird was a gift from his dad. The car on the stage was a replica. It wasn't a full car just a shell really. It was on display at the NPG store in MPLS. I also have a picture of the T-bird painted black with these huge white wall tires on it. I was in MPLS and it was parked in front of Paisley Park. I would say it was late 1992 or early 1993.

Oh, I COMPLETELY respect women. I love my mother and I'm down with the Tupac songs "Keep Yo Head Up" and "Dear Mama". I'm just saying they can't drive. My mom's no exception. I don't know why it is, it just is...

I mean, just go to YouTube and type in "female driver" and you will have HOURS of endless laughter... I swear to God, I haven't laughed out loud in a long time and those clips will make you laugh your ass off.

Sitcoms and comedy movies entertain me and make me laugh on the inside, but rarely do I literally laugh out loud. Genuine laughter is good for the soul.

Call it sexism, but these accidents and statistics ARE happening and God damn if the youtube videos aren't the funniest things in the world.

Sorry not a convertable. It's a 4 door hard top (with suicide doors). T-birds were only ever made as 4 doors during the 67 thru 71 years. The 66 was the last convertable.

Page down and the sixth car down is what it looks like.

Didn't he total the real T-Bird? I seem to recall that he wrecked it.

Even if he did drive it on stage it would not produce enough carbon monoxide to make anyone sick.

I do recall that he did have an accident with it. I believe it was on the road going to the purple house. That may explain why it was black when I saw it in 92 or 93.
