Did Prince have a relitionship with Madonna?

Given the Queen of Pop's enduring popularity, it's surprising that Madonna: An Intimate Portrait is the first real and even half-credible attempt at a full-length examination of her life and work. Author J Randy Taraborrelli's previous subjects have included Frank Sinatra and Cher but it's obvious that Madonna has a special place in the author's heart, thanks to his balanced and well thought-out examination. Though little more than an extended tabloid tale, the book, to its credit, is a fairly comprehensive account of Madonna's career and takes us behind the scenes of her personal life like no other book has done so far. Of course, a good deal of what is presented here is far from new or exclusive, just rehashed in a more entertaining tabloid style.
The fights, the men, the marriages and the music; it's all here though how much you believe and how much you take with a rather generous helping of salt is entirely up to you. Irritatingly, conversations the author has never been privy to are often presented as virtually verbatim and dubious "friends" are anonymously quoted, but this all adds to its sensational gossip-column style. It's a pacy read and Taraborrelli has a keen eye for what makes a juicy anecdote; particularly amusing was Sean Penn allegedly punching a hole in the apartment wall after he and Madonna had an argument about her past relationship with the pop star Prince. Madonna phoned Prince and told him to come over to plaster up the damage, since it was "his fault". Apparently, Prince turned up and fixed the hole. It's anecdotes like this that make the book such a great read and Madonna's personal and professional life is so full of ups and downs that you can't help but root for her the whole way through. Madonna fans will find nothing new here, but in the absence of her own autobiography (which surely can't be far off) this is as good a portrait of a true legend as you are going to read. --Jonathan Weir

I can't say that I believe it's true that he fixed the hole, etc., but it's still a great story.

I have that book and it's an entertaining read However,I don't really believe that Prince came over Madonna's apartment and plastered the damaged wall,lol.

No, I don't think so. Didn't they just barely meet and Prince put "Love Song" together almost by himself?

I read about this story in Liz Smith or some National Enquirer issue. Sean Penn was Jealous Madonna was seeing Prince and Did Punch a Hole in her Wall before they got married. Madonna had sex with anyone she wanted to back then.

Madonna was/is a walking petri dish, the same could be said about Prince, but then Prince is a man and his hormones were wacked. He did say she had the strenght of three or five men? LOL!

Prince spackling a wall? That's hard to believe, but Sean Penn WAS kinda violent back then. Maybe Prince took a quick correspondence course.

No andy I don't think so. I read that the reason for Sean's divorce to Madonna was PHYSICAL ABUSE. He supposedly tied her up in a chair and also tried to put her head in the oven. She made complaints to LA PD and it was in one of the rag mags. As for her affair with Prince. Supposedly he rented some restaurant out just for the 2 of them and I heard that not only did they Cavort,but after a concert in the 90's a bodyguard of Prince's told me Madonna was allowed to talk to Prince in the back of his Limosine. I think it was either around the SYMBOL or JAM of the YEAR tour something tells me it was JAM...After the GArden or something.

I really hope that wasnt the pair of undies he threw out to the audience in the Prince and the Revolution Live.

Can you imagine if it landed on some poor girls head, her thoughts or some of her thoughts would be:
