Prince has never written for the lowest common denominator. (Well...at least he didn't with his 80s albums...) Why do it now? agreed dont believe in politics of chosen fools and hypocrites

Naw ... It's a classic album and it's cemented in time as a gr8 album/era. Perhaps a Remastering of the albums with the additional songs that weren't included and some good liner notes but alas, I think that shall never b. Peace & Stay Funky [Live4Love] ... ~* NPG Member 4 Life *~

In ten years kids will be making fun of those stupid beats from the 00's music that their moms and dads used to listen to. It doesn't make them bad, it's just fashion.

Absolutely NOT! These classics aren't meant to be tampered with. That 80's beat is part of what makes an album like Purple Rain so special. Hell, that CD still sounds ahead of its time. Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

How would he change them?

If Prince would simply remaster his back catalog, many of those "80's beats" would have more punch to them. Hell, Timbaland and Pharell use many of those "80's beats" today. "I'VE GOT A MIND FULL OF GOOD INTENTIONS

Also, why is one of the guys yelling “Purple Rain” like it’s fricking “Freebird”?

i LOVE the original version. i say keep it original. Although, sometimes a new sound works and sometimes it doesn't, it depends on the mix.

No disrespect, but that is not a good idea. The song was in the 80's, leave it there. He doesn't need to get younger fans by bastardizing his earlier material. He has enough fans and money that he doesn't even have to put out anything new, much less F*#* up a great song.
