Indigo Nights Appreciation Thread

I am digging it so much, it is dug!

I haven't heard the actual Indigo Nights 'compilation' yet, but no matter what negative things some people have to say about the cd, those aftershows ROCKED!!

...today is sept.30,2008...at 2:45pm...chicago time....i just received the 21 nights book through ups..from amazon.com....i couldn't stop crying...it is....fa-bu-lo-so....the whole book and cd...i love the fact that the book is 14in by 10in big...and the pictures are larger than life...the indigo nights cd is live and fresh...my favorite track is the longest one...THE ONE...i just want to say THANK-YOU VERY MUCH...mr. prince r.nelson...sir...i love every outfit you wore...i love your poses...i love the photography..poetry..music...lyrics..p.s....is that harris tweed?...i love the color schemes...i miss you soo much..p.s.again...d.j.gene hunt says hi...but most of all the one thing that i simply adore about the whole thing....is the page #203...do you know my favorite # in the world is 03...the picture of your bible was the real treat...the cherry on the sundae...the only thing that i wished was different about that page...was i wished it was your hand on the Holy Bible...THAT WOULD OF MADE ME SCREAM!!...daddi all-day....i love you...you don't even know how true i am...i am the one...mzsexybaby

I am sure I will love it, I'm going 4 it tomorrow, I will be disappointed if I don't find it.

21 nights is the best thing that has happen to me in a very long time.
The pictures are breathe taking and the CD is jammin!!!

Just got my copy yesterday, and I'll say that the photography and the design of the book and disk surpass anything out of Prince since Sign O The Times. Just glancing over it reminds you of how in-house-cornball the design of Prince's releases have been over the last 15-20 years, and particularly since the mid 1990s.

Bought 21 Nights 2day, read the book but haven't listened 2 the just yet.

It'z fantastic.Will post a proper review of it on the cd thread once I hear it once more 4 the thousandth time already.

I really love this CD. I don't understand all the negativity towards it.

I purchased my book yesterday on my lunch hour and looked at the pictures my entire lunch hour! Simply beautiful, I have listen to Indigo Nights so far up to track 8, and it made me smile so much! the music is tight and his sense of humor is so cute! Looking forward to the rest of the CD! Here's my review.

A little background first. I consider myself a fan but not too fammy. When I first heard about this I was not interested in getting it. I was curious, but really I dig the new music more than some picture book with a cd of an aftershow of songs I am not that passionate about. I was going to check it out if I remembered.

My Birthday was yesterday and my partner, going against my suggestions of never getting me anythng by P because I just didn't think he could get me something I would want. Plus he tries to get me gifts, but doesn't always do a great job. Neither do I, it's our thing. So I get this gift and I am shocked he even knew about it. I think it's one of the best gifts he's gotten me.

So first thing I can say is if I DID see this in the store, I would think about getting it. I don't get paraphenailia...nor am I really interested in a book of pics and poetry and no real content. When I saw this, I was like WOW! First thing I noticed was how girthy it was. It's about the same weight as a laptop and just big. Definitely coffee table size. ANd the pics are stunnig and really nice. It's a nice package throughout...Slip cover, to the cover and the quality of the pages and photos. You've seen snippets of them and it's pretty much what you saw but expanded. It's cool. Really cool. Will I look at it much in a few weeks...probably not, but for what it is, its a nice book of quality.

The CD is what it is...an aftershow akin to all of his aftershows these days. It's basically a big jam session. Not the greatest, but not boring either. It has a lot of energy, and I would imagine, if I was there, I would have been enjoying myself emensely. He's talented and they are tight, so of course it's good. No, it's not like how they used to be in the 80's and 90s but if you have been to any concert or aftershow recently, you know what it is.

I say overall it is worth the money and is QUALITY. It will probably double or triple it's worth in 3-5 years.

don't think there's any1 here who wouldn't have chose an IndigO2 DVD over the CD (if they had a choice), in fact still know where 2 watch videos of the Earth Tour ( ) but like the Indigo Nights CD cuz it's better than the book alone!

There seems to be 2 threads going here, so I'm just going to post what I did on the CD thread, now that I've heard it, I'm sure you'll all be thrilled

Just received the book and CD today! I'm LOVING it, I really don't understand the negativity around this at all, and it's obviously meant as a 'thank you', 'reminder' and 'tribute' to the people who attended the O2 last year, and especially the aftershows. It's just a 'taster' of the fun we all had, some great jams and a little of this and a little of that! I guess you just had to BE there to really appreciate it! I love Shelby J's songs too, she's a very cool, lovely and talented lady. She's got so much energy and really added a lot to the shows last year. She gave me a great big smile too, so I've got a soft spot for her. Very, very cool! Thanks Prince

PS Such great musicianship, and so much talent in such a small venue, I'd call it the best value for money I've EVER had, and the CD shows just a little of what went down. It was a just an amazing party ya'll!

Is there a album cover for it? It looks rather bland on my ipod.

I think the cd is great, I guess I should have followed up earlier. I just always wish I was there when I hear the fun of a live recording and the spirit of the people in the room.

It's pretty decent. I can listen to P jammin' all day. It could have been a lot better if he'd included a couple of big songs, and two Shelby songs is at least one too many. But,that's P. He'll always give you plenty, but not always plenty of what you want.

I am wondering if No 15 "all the critics love you in London" is from the 21st September aftershow. Hope so, as I was there - it was an amazing night. Waiting for my copy to arrive in the post ... any day now!
