Should P go even more mainstream and score a Disney movie like HSM or Camp Rock?.

O.K.,my kids forced me to watch these movies [honest!] and the whole new Prince lite sound of the last 3 CDs, family friendly outlook & his Hollyrock lovin' attitude made me think that he could easily score a movie like this. I actually think some of the trax in those movies rocked & funked harder than P does lately!-[just kiddin!]. I really can see him doing this as a one off project and given teh'Song of the heart' surely it's only a matter of time.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL! uve gotta be taking the piss Fair enough if he decided to do a soundtrack for an animated feature like Elton John - The Lion King, Phil Collins - Tarzan, Sting - The Emperors New Groove etc, Since I Thought "Song Of The Heart was a really good song, It would be intresting 2 see him do a whole soundtrack for an animated feature. But 2 do them shitty cheap ass disney channel movies. Hell No! Prince is way 2 cool 4 that!

I think today's kids would love 'Head' 'Sister' and 'Jack U off', and so would Disney - what a great idea.

Things are not so bad that Prince needs to do anything like this.

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

If I see this on TV, I'll pour gasoline on it and set it ablaze.

Then I'll find Prince and ask him what he plans to do with all his spare time, since he's killed his career and buried it under a bunch of candy coated tunes.

What's next? He gonna pull an "Opposites Attract" and dance with Minnie Mouse?

I thought he went through his camp rock phase years ago.

Hell to the motherfucking naw! And it's a damn shame that the world has got so dull that a Disney song would be a hit. When I was growing up, Disney was the opposite of what artists wanted to be.

I'm still holding onto the idea that he will portray Hendrix in a biopic before he's too old. Based on how he looked at the Superbowl, he could do it - and I think it would be huge.

I don't think you'd ever have to worry about any Prince/Disney collaboration. The Rat is notorious for its greedy control of music, distribution, ancillary rights, etc.

That's part of the impetus for creating musicals like HSM and Camp Rock. They can market those bad boys all over the place. They'll just keep re-packaging and re-selling the same stuff if they can't make anything new (even though a HSM3 is in production).

And what do we know of Prince and his attitudes toward creative and distributive control?

I'm sure Kenny Ortega (they de facto creator of HSM) gets fat bank, but little to no control after the feature is finished. Prince would never need that kind of "break". It would be a great commercial move for someone of much lower notoriety, but utterly pointless for a "rock god".

Then came the Muppets Show, Club 3121 at the Rio, and of course, Web Sherrif.

I just won't say anything is beneath Prince anymore.

I wish all that HSM shit would just FUCK OFF! I saw Grease at the cinema today for it's 30th Anniversary (also went 10 years ago for the 20th). Loved that movie since I was 5 yeas old despite a lot of the references going over my head at the time. What's wrong with getting the kids on that instead of remaking it with shit songs and shit acting? It's lost none of it's charm.
