Round and Round

I have always though that Round and Round was a great track. The only problem is that Prince did not sing it. Has anyone ever heard a version of Prince singing this.

It's honestly one of the worst songs ever released. It is the only track I skip on any of his albums, ridiculous! But no I have never heard Prince sing it.

I like this song. Pure commercial pop.

I rather like this song.

I mean, it would sound weird if Prince himself had sung it, but somehow it fits the 14 yo Tevin Campbell perfectly.

And yes, its very poppy and commercial sounding, but not like some total sell out: it still has those strangely distorted background vocals by Prince, some nice 'middle-eastern' touches and the lyrics go a bit deeper then the usual 'teenybopper' stuff.

I also really enjoyed Tevin's voice. I think he's talented. He hasn't been doing much lately but I wish he would.

I totally love this song!!! It's a cute video too. Tevin was soooo young then. Prince is in the video watching Tevin.....I still have the cassette and love to listen to the extended version. Fun to dance to!!

Ha, ha, I slated the 'I plan to be a cool kitty' part of that song recently in another thread! It's delivered with an air of 'I can't believe I have to say this'. It's lame. I did like that song, but for that. Prince is backing on this song, but I've never heard his version, but I'm sure one exists.

If you like Tevin, you should get I'm Ready, which has three (is that right?) songs by Prince on it (also backing vocals, apart from Shhh). It's a good album anyway. All the Prince songs are pretty good, although I'm glad he revisited Shhh himself....
