How has Prince/Prince's Music Changed/Challenged Your life?

I was reading another thread and it inspired me to ask the above question.

He motivated me and now I am a Published Poet, singing my own original works, and authoring my first screenplay.

What are the wonderful inspirations Prince has created/added to your life?

My book is Psalms-Poetry For Warriors (u can google the title)

I saw Prince cry
and I asked God why

The answer He gave
caused me 2 b saved

I am still being inspired by him.
I have decided to set big goals and work towards them,
chase my dreams, not only he has helped me in my quest but many other artists have contributed to my finding what I want to do with my life.

Including Madonna, Erykah, Gloria Estevan, Lila Downs and many others....

My calling is performing arts, it took me a long while to understand and accept this I was shy about it for years,
and now I wish I could focus all my energy in that direction but

I am caught in the rat race of wrk and school and bureaucracy and

it hurts my soul to not be able to do what I know I am meant for. Ahhhh as mi abuela dice thus is the way of life

muy duro..... sigh

I use to think simply I was the only one inspired by Prince. It's nice to know he changed inspired you. He inspires me and the changes I experience in studying truth (through good music) allow me to grow spiritually and see myself more clearly.

Knowing the power of words, I must disagree with you in that your soul is hurting to not be able to do what you know you are meant for. As free beings living in America you have the power to concieve your life. Picture what you want and where you want to be. Then no matter how horrible it looks and how nobody, nothing and/or noone believes...You keep a strong hold to YOUR truth and when ever you see any good opportunity to fulfill this (your truth) step right in without fear. Success starts in your mind... the 'rat'race does not exist.

Start locally you may find someone who is waiting for you where you are. Remember all those who are those we love started with a choice. It is said, our very own, Prince first had to be taken to one of his father's show's (I call it) by his mother before he said, "That's what I want to do?"

By his works (and as crazy as he looked-Lol) he still believes.

I see what ur saying and I am doing those things you've suggested and I am getting closer to my goals, however I disagree with the rat race, I truly am tied to meeting my basic needs and that is where 90% of time and energy goes the rest is spent here on the org woot!...LOL

j/k

but there are spaces where I have to use my time wisely and push harder, I am in the midst of putting together an act with a musician I have met on Craigslist and there is a bar up the street that wants me to do shows there once a week, and will pay us if we can get a crowd there so that is where my starting point will be, the problem I face that I blame the "Rat Race" for is time, coordinating schedules with me and my musical partner to rehearse between both our wrk schedules and school and just living, is very tuff -->I can't imagine how hard it would be if I had a kid that's a whole nother thread tho

If you have about 3 grand for (I don't know what the heck they wanted the $$ for) then Tate could be useful but I got the copyright myself and sent my works to www.publishamerica.com (another Poet informed me of them) and they responded.

God bless you.

Oh I almost forgot... You said congratulations... I prayed first so I do not deserve the thanx. God loves me so much and knew that I thought I was crazy and I asked Him with tears in my eyes. "GOD, if this is my life then show me." and less then a week later, I have a Publisher begging me. I thank Him and if you truly want your works out there then the only true advice I have for your success is to pray.
