Absoulutely. I believe that the album was a little short...and filled with a lot of different sounds...I just think the album could have been a different blend..."Paisley Park," would have been a better song to open with...and "Around the World in a day," at the end, would have put the other songs in parenthesis...
Here we are in this big ole' empty room, starin' eachother down.

"Around The World In A Day" was and is a brilliant record. For me it brings back a ton of memories, all good. I loved this period of '85 leading up to the "Parade" era including all the related artists releases.

I'm glad to see that this album is getting some love. This is my all time favorite Prince album. A true classic. It's also IMO the single most underrated album in his catalog.

I think that it suffered for coming directly after Purple Rain. I think that it is a respectable album. The released songs are good, Raspberry Beret is catchy, and Temptation is one of the great unknown songs in Princes arsenal. Overall, I would say it is a middle of the road Prince album

It is a good album. I can't deny that. The only problem is the fact it followed the commerical success of Purple Rain and therefore suffered quite a bit.

In fact, I put together my own special edition version of "ATWIAD". It's a fantastic version of the album that I encourage and recommend some of you make for your collection. I included all full 12" singles, B-Sides and Album extended versions. I also used Adobe Audition to bump and match all sound levels so that it has close as possible to a remastered and clean high quality sound. I plan on doing the same projects for Purple Rain, Parade, Sign Of The Times, LoveSexy and Batman soon. I have made an "ALL" Prince version of "Graffiti Bridges" that includes 12"/Extended versions and I must say...IT ROCKS! ; ) Here's what I put together for ATWIAD... 1. Around The World In A Day (Extended Dance Mix) 6:25 2. Paisley Park (Extended Remix) 6:57 3. Condition Of The Heart 6:50 4. Raspberry Beret (New Mix) 6:37 5. Tamborine (Extended Mix) 3:37 6. America (Extended Mix) 21:24 7. Pop Life ('Extended' Fresh Dance Mix) 9:08 8. The Ladder 5:31 9. Temptation 8:17 10. 4 The Tears In Your Eyes 3:21 11. She's Always In My Hair (Extended Mix) 6:32 12. Hello (Extended Mix) 6:22 13. Girl (Extended Mix) 7:37 14. A Love Bizarre (Full Album Version) 12:18 Better than some artists "Best of" complilations. If u want some censored shit.......go elsewhere. If u want the TRUTH, come 2 me.

All of the 80's albums are great in their own respects because its a great decade. Though this isn't among my favorites of the decade, its a good album on its own for sure. My favorite tracks are "Condition of the Heart" that's very well-done and a bit sad at the same time. Also "America" which has a great message and its just fun all-around. The extended version is to die for. "Pop Life" hands down my favorite. I love the music and back-up vocals, one of my favorite Prince/Lisa & Wendy collaborations. "Temptation" is right up there. It makes me laugh like nobody's business i love this album with raspberry beret & p park my faves, shit they're all fab. temptation cracks me up too with all those tortured screams & panting..& the filthy way he says sexual it's a joy 2 hear!
