Wow..."Graffiti Bridge" really WAS as bad as everyone said...

I picked up the DVD in HMV yesterday for £4, i figured it couldnt be that bad seeing as i enjoyed both "Purple Rain" and "Under The Cherry Moon" loads...however...

When people say:

1) It has no storyline - THEYRE NOT LYING
2) Its just a bunch of music videos put together - THEYRE NOT LYING
3) Prince is an aweful director - THEYRE NOT LYING
4) Prince doesnt put on a very good performance - THEYRE NOT LYING
5) He shouldnt have done it - THEYRE NOT LYING

And another thing i dont understand is, The Time released a full album "Pandemonium", plus like 3 tracks on the "Graffiti Bridge" soundtrack, why couldnt Prince just do us a full album? Having to skip through tracks like "Round and Round" every time i listen to the album gets a bit irritating.

Any of you guys thought "hey it can be that bad" only to be unpleasantly suprised?

I never said it was bad and I saw it the day it came out in the movies over 20 years ago!

THEY"re NOT me. Maybe it didn't cost very much money for Prince and his friends that worked on this project to please some of us...I own about a hundred movies...That I consider worth keeping..."Grafitti Bridge," is one of them...but "Under the Cherry Moon," is not.

i dunno i dont mind the film that much though i always try to think of it as a seperate film to purple rain rather than a sequal as it doesnt make it seem quite as bad though it is a tad weird

WHAT???? Gangster Glam video was nice. Everyone was bumpin' that (song and vid)... To each its own but the Gett off maxi video was #1 on the charts and Graffiti Bridge...well you know where that went.

All that singing in the streets...it was a terrible musical..Man did that movie suck....

There was nothing bad about Diamond and Pearls era...maybe the beard and high hair but that year was it....JMO PEACE

Wow TAME. That surprised me.

I think GB suffers from being connected to PR in anyway. Beyond that there are some glaring movie editing, script ...etc. UTCM suffers the same plight, but has a more of a feeling of princes humor.

GB he mopes the whole movie that the world is against him...devoid of any reason to cheer for him.

Exactly.. I like the humour in UTCM. I also liked the songs.

Graffiti Bridge was OK. Ingrid Chavez was annoying..

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.
