Should Prince have a Satelite radio channel?

I think it would be cool if he did, it would play all of his hits , his rare material , material from Shelia E., The Time, Vanity 6, and etc. Play stuff from live shows or even new material the possiblities are endless if he had his own channel. Artist like Sinatra, or Elvis has a Channel why not Prince? Do you guys think it would be a good idea or it would ever happen?

This topic has been discussed before (can't find the thread link ight now), and I said then that this is a GREAT idea and I would go absolutely nuts with glee if it ever happened!

But, as someone pointed out on the old thread, Prince is SUPER-protective of his music so SIRIUS (or whatever station it would be) would likely have to pay through the nose to even get a portion--let alone all--of Prince's catalogue to broadcast.

I agree, though: A station with remixes/extended cuts, live performances, demos, interviews, songs by associated artists, etc. would be AWESOME...I would never turn it off! biggrin

T'would be nice. Even if there wasn't an entire station, a month long Prince Event would suffice just to test the waters. One of the XM stations has been doing 30 days of Coldplay, and frankly there's only so much Viva la Vida that one can take...

It's time for us to move this forward.

I've written to Sirius about it....big long e-mail listing all the albums, live stuff, protoge stuff all that. They wrote back and said they thought it was great and would love to do something like that if they ever got the chance.

This is seriously a great idea. He's got enough material to warrant it. Doesn't Led Zeppelin have their own channel?

Alas, in the end, Prince... fans... hates... you know the drill, so it won't happen.

A great alternative is to just compile all your P catalog on your computer, iPod or whatever, and hit "random" or "shuffle"! Trust me, it's a great alternative and you can go for days and days and days without hearing the exact same thing twice.

I like the idea of a channel, because it allows people to be sharing the same music at the same time...Sometimes I believe you can feel a stronger essence knowing there are a lot of people doing the same thing....Like the "Superbowl," There is something fun about knowing the amount of people that are tuning into the same event. cool
