The Prince playlist on my iPod currently lists 1452 tracks - some live, some studio.

That isn't everything I have.

Just out of curiousity, does that include a lot of live tracks and/or associated artists?

Did you read my post? I said "some live, some studio."

No associated artists.

Of course I read it. I understand that it is a mix of live and studio material (thanks for repeating it, though, because I really couldn't have figured that out). I was asking if it included a lot of live material because I was curious about the ratio. From posts of yours I've read, I had a feeling that you would have a higher calibre of taste for what unofficial things you collect, and therefore not a lot of those horrible-sounding live boots. Ergo, you seemed like a fairly good gauge, although perhaps it was none of my business. Regardless, I'm sorry I made you forget your manners, and I hope your day improves.

Well, I'm sorry - if you wanted to know about the ratio of live to studio, you should have just asked that. I honestly didn't know what you were after. shrug I'd say it's about 50/50 - or maybe 60 studio/40 live.

You're right - I don't have a lot of crappy-sounding live boots. In fact, I have only one bad-sounding one that I can think of - a Purple Rain show from the Rosemont Horizon that I downloaded and keep only because I was actually at that show. (The sound is truly horrendous. lol )

I also much prefer aftershows and small venue shows to "main events" - the playlists tend to vary more. When I'm deciding what to grab, I usually go for shows with rare performances - for example, Victory 3121 (a Las Vegas aftershow I attended) has a super rare performance of Wasted Kisses.

Beyond that, I read what others have said about various shows - and try to get the one (or maybe two) exceptional "main" shows for a given tour. I don't really see any reason to have 17 Musicology shows if there are just a couple that had unusual playlists.

There. Now I've probably given you more than you wanted! lol

Yeah, that's what I was hinting around at, and I should have been clearer. I agree with your criteria for the live shows. Thanks!
