The key changes, multiple bass parts, the background vocals arrangment, the horns (on the 12"), the guitar synth... It all dressed up what amounted to a simplistic rock riff on the chorus ("Owner of a Lonely Heart," etc.)

The best song on Parade. Why? Well, because it says so much in a simple pop song: Rock guitars, soulful chorus, funky backbeat which is somewhat Hip-Hop-ish, jazzy and classical flourishes, and with an electro production. It's amazing how the man fits so many styles of music in a cohesive whole. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE. | |

Aww man i LOVE this song. It was soo cool when they posted the live version just after the O2 concert - i watched it over and over and over - never get bored of that tune - it ROCKS!
